Here is a link to books our library holds and eBooks that you can access to research this unit. Feel free to pop into the library to sign one out or login to use one of the eBooks!

Keywords in quotation marks should be entered in quotation marks (to keep the words together as a phrase). See library staff if you have trouble accessing the databases.

Great religion and belief keywords: "belief systems"; Judaism; Christianity; polytheism - all combined with "ancient Rome"

sweetsearch.com is the best database for this topic, however there are some eBooks that are available and may be useful in EBSCO.

Government:

Great government keywords: senate; republic; emperors; consuls; patricians; democracy - all combined with "ancient Rome"

Advanced Placement Source (an EBSCO database) has many great articles on this topic and sweetsearch.com is also great for this topic!

Contribution:

Great contribution keywords: legacy; invention; architecture; achievements - all combined with "ancient Rome"

sweetsearch.com will be your best site to search for this topic, however Advanced Placement Source is great for specific searches such as architecture and invention.

Slavery:

Slavery keywords: you will really be most successful combining the search terms slavery and "ancient Rome" together

Both sweetsearch.com and Advanced Placement Source are great for this topic.

History of Julius Caesar:

History of Julius Caesar keywords: you will really be most successful combining the search term "Julius Caesar" along with the term history. Be sure to spell Caesar's name correctly! :)

Both sweetsearch.com and EBSCO databases offer both Advanced Placement Source and the eBook collection that are great for this topic (hint: you can select both and search them at the same time!)
