Welcome to our Imperialism Unit site!
On this site:
- At the top of this site, you will be able to navigate to the Assignment Expectations page and the Resources page along with this Home page.
- Under Assignment Expectations, you will see a list of unit assignments.
- Below the listing of assignments is a unit calendar.
- Next, is a quick assignment called a H.A.T. (History Assessments of Thinking). This first one is an overview of Imperialism.
- Following the first H.A.T. is information on an essay that you may be asked to write. There is an assignment sheet which explains the essay details and expectations, tips for writing a good essay, and a peer review sheet.
- Next, you get to apply your Imperialism learning to modern-day. You will complete the next H.A.T. which is a primary source written on U.S. Military Presence in Afghanistan.
- Finally, you will see the visual assignment (you will choose between creating a slideshow or an infographic). There is an assignment expectation sheet, a statistics graphic organizer, and note taking requirements that you will be expected to complete throughout this project. Next, you will see a rubric for your final presentation whether you choose to create a slideshow or the infographic. Finally, there are student examples of work (please note: expectations may have slightly changed so be sure to follow any rubrics provided to you by your teacher.)
- Under Resources, you will be able to link to articles and eBooks, etc. to gather expert information for your research.
- On this page, you will see additional resources linked here to help you with organizing or writing during research.
