West chester christmas parade
The CPFA Jazz Mavericks, escorted by members of Chapter #7447 of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, will be performing in the West Chester Hometown Christmas Parade on Friday, December 6 beginning at 7 PM.
The parade is televised on 6 ABC Philadelphia and hosted by meteorologist Adam Joseph. The band is unit #74 out of 86 units in the parade, so they are on towards the end of the event. More information about attending the parade in person can be found HERE.
Combined Winter Music Concert
The CPFA Music Department proudly presents their Combined Winter Music Concert on Tuesday, December 10 beginning at 7 PM at Calvary Lutheran Church, 730 S. New St., West Chester, PA 19382.
High school vocal music students, along with middle school and high school instrumental music students, will perform a variety of holiday and popular pieces, featuring Benjamin Britten’s major choral work A Ceremony of Carols and a grand finale combining the PALCS Orchestra, CPFA orchestra students, and the high school vocalists in a performance of “Make Our Garden Grow,” the finale of the Broadway show Candide by Leonard Bernstein. Admission is free. The concert will also be live streamed at http://bit.ly/CPFA-WC24 for friends and family to attend virtually. Please note: the “snow date” for this concert is Friday, December 13 at 7 PM in case the original date is canceled due to inclement weather.
“Making Spirits Bright” Holiday Music Series
The CPFA Jazz Mavericks will be performing an hour of holiday music and jazz standards at the “Making Spirits Bright” Holiday Music Series on the steps of the Chester County Historic Courthouse at 2 N. High St. in West Chester on Saturday, December 14 from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. This event occurs concurrently with Hot Chocolate and Photos with Santa at M&T Bank across the street, and the Christkindlmarkt on Gay Street. Make an entire afternoon of it with your family and support the jazz band!
