You can reach out through email to schedule a visit. An initial visit usually takes 1-1/2 to 2 hours, depending on the issue(s). If possible, we try to schedule a time so I can observe a feeding. Because babies and feeding times can vary, we do our best!
I will send forms by email. Please fill them out and return them 24 hours prior to our visit.
You can check to see if your insurance is contracted with The Lactation Network (the organization with which I contract). See the link lower on the page. If The Lactation Network (TLN) contracts with your insurance, there is no out of pocket cost to you.
If your insurance is not contracted with TLN, out of pocket costs are listed below. A superbill can be provided to you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement, if you request one.
Out of pocket costs
Initial postpartum visit (lactation): $150
Follow-up postpartum visit (lactation): $60/hr
Prenatal visit: $75
No charge for short postpartum emails and phone calls.
Private childbirth education class: email for more information
Packages for lactation visit and infant craniosacral, or for maternal fascial stretch/craniosacral fusion can be purchased separately - please inquire.
A payment schedule and/or a sliding fee scale is also available
There are many components to a lactation visit, depending on the breastfeeding issues. Because we look at both baby and mother, the visit may include: assessment of baby's movement and symmetry, observing baby's latch and how they come to the breast, baby's positioning when feeding, assessment of the baby's oral structure, a pre- and post- feed weight, a breast assessment.
If you are pumping, please bring your pump and kit. If your baby is taking a bottle, please bring a bottle and some milk so we can see how baby's feeding may differ between breast and bottle.
We will discuss what I am seeing and what that information conveys to me about the situation. We will discuss possible approaches to addressing the issue, working together to find a path forward for you and your baby.
I will send you an email summary of our visit. We will keep in touch until you feel feeding is going well. If necessary, we will schedule a follow-up lactation visit.
