The Zeta Beta Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa
An Introduction to Greek Alphabets
The purpose of this site is to introduce students to the Greek alphabet. Most think of Greek as an ancient language used in the Bible. Other only consider the alphabets when planning to pledge a fraternity or sorority.
The owner of Georgia's Greek Kitchen, a catering service in Port Arthur, said that she learned to read and write Greek letters as a child so that she could write her grandmother who lives in Greece!
According to the Greek Alphabet for Kids: "The Greek alphabet is over 2,500 years old and is still used today! The Greek alphabet was the first alphabet to include vowels. It is one of the many gifts we received from the ancient Greeks."
