The platforms on this page (generally called chatbots) can help you do many tasks: generate or edit communications, grade essays, devise lesson plans (or enhance lesson plans by adding interactivity or gamifying), program websites, rate job applicants, generate custom images for presentations, and much, much more. On a personal level, some of these apps can plan vacations for you or tell you what to make for dinner based on a photo of the contents of your refrigerator. Being conversant with these platforms can save you loads of time in your teaching, allowing you to interact more with students, and can also free up some of the more routine tasks in your personal life, as well.Â
Each of these are similar and by experimenting with them, you will find which one you works best for you.
The first and most well known AI chatbot. Great (but noticeably AI) text generator, email writer, research assistant, lesson plan and much more. This version is NOT fact checked or up to date. Great for editing and generating ideas.
The FREE shortcut to ChatGPT 4, the (as of now) most powerful chatbot. This can provide lesson plans, recipes for dinner based on a photo of your refrigerator contents, guidance with essay marking, vacation planning, and more. Information provided is up to date and backed up by sources so users can determine if it is good information or not. PLEASE NOTE: for about 1/2 of teachers, this link takes you to Copilot, and for others, it takes you to Bing's home page, where you then need to navigate (on the top bar) to Copilot.
One of the newest chatbots, but will integrate with the entire G-Suite over time. Up to date and sources provided. It can create data for charts.
Perplexity gives you its sources, allowing you to check the text it generates. It also provides relevant videos, images, and more related to the information provided. The digital assistant (Copilot) is a phenomenal research assistant or personal assistant. Please note: Blocked by Oak House due to explicit images being able to pass through, this is still one of the best chatbots available (you can download the app on your phone/iPad).
Great chatbot that uses its own language model. All information is real time and sourced.
Provides access to a huge array of chatbots (GPT4, Anthropic, Anime creator, and many others). More for intermediate users as familiarity with other AI platforms is needed. Great interface and one of the best platforms for AI enthusiasts.
BONUS: provides access to many Spanish language chatbots.
Anthropic's chatbot. Claude can process tons of information, generate code and ideas, coach and mentor you.
