Pennsylvania Association
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America
State Leadership Conference
Conference Rules:
Along with the PA FCCLA Rules and Regulations, address these specific rules with attendees:
- Chapter meetings should be held in a public area and adults must be present.
- Carefully follow the FCCLA dress code while in the conference center for any purpose including meals. Read through the dress code during your chapter meeting. If an adult stops you for violating the dress code, politely give your advisor's name and return to your room to change into appropriate clothes. When not in the conference center, wear street attire, especially when going to and from the pool.
- Follow cell phone etiquette. Silence all devices and do not use cell phones during any meetings and workshops unless otherwise permitted.
- No electronic communication devices may be used in STAR Event competitions unless the technology is necessary for your competition and it must be in airplane mode.
- Hotel rooms should only be occupied by the members assigned to that room.
- Kalahari Resort maintains a policy of quiet time in lodging rooms and hallways starting at 10 pm.
- Always deadbolt your door when you are in your room. Members are not permitted to go outside or on balconies, and members need to travel in pairs throughout the resort.
- No one is permitted on balconies or outside; exceptions for members leaving for competition.
- Do not tape signs to the hotel room doors or hallways.
- All members have signed that they have received the PA FCCLA Rules and Regulations.
Violation of Conference Rules involves disciplinary action by the Board of Directors and could include disqualification from STAR Events and Awards.
