How it Works

Participants will earn badges on their journey through 3 Modules

- There are four separate badges for each component of the Pillar Module: Connect, Lead, Develop, Advocate
- There is one badge for the completion of the entire Elective Module
- There is one badge for the completion of the entire Leadership Experience Module

Badges are earned through the following activities:
- attend synchronous or asynchronous OTIS Pillar Sessions (from the pillar playlist or self-selected from the OTIS calendar)
- attend in-person/virtual PETE&C Pillar Sessions
- attend KTI-C Pillar Sessions
- attend in-person or virtual PAECT Regional Events
- attend PAECT Monthly Mentoring Sessions
- Lead various events and activities.
Participants will track their progress in a Google Doc and complete a Google Form Reflection for each activity in the modules above.
ACT 48 hours will be reported through OTIS and/or the PAECT region/committee hosting the event

Pillar Module

Connect

🔗 To earn this badge, participate in any 3 of the following activities that align with the PAECT Connect Pillar and complete a Google Form Reflection for each:

- attend any synchronous or asynchronous OTIS Connect session
- attend an in-person/virtual PETE&C Connect session
- attend a KTI-C Connect session
- watch a previously recorded KTI-C Connect session
- attend a virtual or in-person PAECT Regional Connect Event

Lead

🪜To earn this badge, participate in any 3 of the following activities that align with the PAECT Lead Pillar and complete a Google Form Reflection for each:

- attend any synchronous or asynchronous OTIS Lead session
- attend an in-person/virtual PETE&C Lead session
- attend a KTI-C Lead session
- watch a previously recorded KTI-C Lead session
- attend a virtual or in-person PAECT Regional Lead Event

Advocate

📣 To earn this badge, participate in any 3 of the following activities that align with the PAECT Advocate Pillar and complete a Google Form Reflection for each:

- attend any synchronous or asynchronous OTIS Advocate session
- attend an in-person/virtual PETE&C Advocate session
- attend a KTI-C Advocate session
- watch a previously recorded KTI-C Advocate session
- attend a virtual or in-person PAECT Regional Advocate Event

Develop

⚙️ To earn this badge, participate in any 3 of the following activities that align with the PAECT Develop Pillar and complete a Google Form Reflection for each:

- attend any synchronous or asynchronous OTIS Develop session
- attend an in-person/virtual PETE&C Develop session
- attend a KTI-C Develop session
- watch a previously recorded KTI-C Develop session
- attend a virtual or in-person PAECT Regional Develop Event

Elective Module

📚To earn this badge:

Select activities to total 6 experience points
Complete a Google Form Reflection for each experience activity you select

1 Experience Point (one point each) 💡

Attend a PD session from an outside sponsoring organization
Additional OTIS session of your choice
Additional PAECT sponsored in-person event beyond your pillar module requirements

2 Experience Points (two points each) 💡💡

Additional Monthly Mentoring Meeting (beyond the required 3)
Support a PAECT Committee in hosting an event

3 Experience Points (three points each) 💡💡💡

Lead an initiative in your home school district for professional development
Volunteer to review conference proposals
Present at a Conference such as PETE & C prior to your leadership module

Monthly Mentoring Meeting

Every other month, the PAECT Professional Development Committee will host a mentoring session where all Pioneers can connect, lead, develop, and advocate for improving their practice!

🗓️Keep these dates in mind for 2025:

January 20th at 7 pm
March 17th at 7 pm
May 19th at 7 pm
July 21st at 7 pm
September 15th at 7 pm
November 17th at 7 pm

We ask that you attend 3 of the 6 sessions.

Attending additional sessions will give you credit for your elective module!

Leadership Module

Leadership Experience

To be completed AFTER the Pillar and Elective Modules are completed

To complete the Leadership Experience Module, you will collaborate with your PAECT regional director or a PAECT Professional Development Committee "Pioneer Team" Mentor to either:

- 1. Lead a PAECT Regional virtual or in-person event
  2. Submit a proposal, get accepted, and present at KTI-C 2025
  3. Submit a proposal, get accepted, and present at PETE&C 2026
  4. Present at a local, state, national, or international conference

Bonus: have your session posted to Otis!

Once ALL badges are earned, participants will earn the final Lead and Learn Ambassador Badge!
