Mrs early's news update

Congratulations first of all to our rounders team this week for their impressive victory at the Trust rounders competition at Molehill Academy in Maidstone. The team played exceptionally well. Well done to all participants and thank you to Molehill for holding the event. We look forward to further sporting competitions this year.

This week children have also voted for their Year 6 House Captains. Children prepared their own speeches to be a House Captain and put together videos and presentations which were shared with children across the school. Children enjoyed engaging in a democratic process to vote.

Last night I enjoyed meeting the PTA at the PTA  AGM and I am very impressed with the excellent fundraising that they carry out for the school. We are currently formulating plans about what we would like to fundraise for this year. Their first exciting event is the Autumn disco on the 13th October.

Today we have enjoyed dressing in the colours of a European flag to celebrate the European Day of Languages.  There were many vibrant colours in assembly and our new language ambassadors have been actively promoting languages already !   Thank you also for your generous cake donations that have supported the MacMillan coffee morning at the Paddock Wood community centre.

Information will be sent out today about parent consultations. Please do book an appointment. It will provide an opportunity to find out how your child is getting on in their class so far this year. It will be great to see you.

Thank you for your support and enjoy your weekend.

house captains

european day of languages

The children have had a lovely day today taking part in different activities to celebrate the European Day of Languages.

More pictures to follow next week!

harvest

On Friday 6th October children in Year 1-6 will be visiting St Andrews Church for a Harvest service in the afternoon, one for KS1 and one for KS2.

Please could children bring in a harvest gift on the day (non-perishable item only please)  that they can carry with them to the Church.

Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate parents to watch the services; however we would love to have some parent volunteers to help walk the classes to and from the church.

Please get in touch with your child’s class teacher if you are available and able to help with this.

Thank you
