Mr page's news update
It was lovely to see so many parents on Monday and Wednesday at our Parents Evening consultations. These are always useful to celebrate learning, achievements and to discuss targets for the remainder of the school year.
Easter
I would like to say thank you to Miss Truett and St Andrew's Church for organising our Easter celebrations this week. We have had the whole school visit St Andrew's over the last few days. Year 5 and 6 took part in some Easter based activities on Wednesday. Today Reception and KS1 had a service which was followed by Years 3 and 4. Thank you to all of the parent helpers who supported and helped. We are extremely proud of our strong links to our community and local church.
Attendance
I am extremely pleased to say that our attendance has continued to improve and is slightly better than the national average. I would like to celebrate those families who have made a real effort to improve attendance. As always, we are always striving for improvement in all areas, this includes attendance.
Good attendance is important because:
Statistics show a direct link between under-achievement and absence below 95%
Regular attenders make better progress, both socially and academically
Regular attenders find school routines, school work and friendships easier to cope with
Regular attenders find learning more satisfying
Regular attenders are more successful in transferring between primary school, secondary school, and higher education.
Please continue to work in collaboration with us and communicate any difficulties that you may be experiencing. Our staff are here to help and offer many different ways to support families.
Staffing
Nikki Flowers - our fantastic TA in Year 1 is leaving at the end of this term. She has worked in Early Years and Year 1 over the last two years. I would like to thank her for all of her hard work and for always being so child centered. She will be missed by the whole staff team and children. I wish her all the best in her next role.
We have had an extremely busy but successful term. Next term is already looking busy with yet more fantastic trips and visits. I would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a Happy Easter and I look forward to welcoming you back in Term 5 (hopefully accompanied by some sunshine).

pta easter trail
Are you looking for a fun activity for the Easter holiday that also raises money for the academy? If so, perhaps you can help the PTA solve a mystery...
Yesterday, Mr Page left an Easter egg on his desk and went to get a cup of coffee. When he returned, there was nothing left on the desk except for a few small crumbs of chocolate.
Someone had stolen the Easter egg!
Now we need YOUR help. Over the Easter holiday we need you to follow our trail around Paddock Wood. At each stop you'll find a clue that leads to the name of an innocent teacher that you can cross off the list of suspects. The name left on your list at the end of the trail must be the chocolate thief!
Once you've completed the trail, email the name of the person you think stole the egg to the PTA, along with your child's name and class, to the PTA paddockwoodprimarypta@gmail.com and correct entries will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win an Easter hamper of goodies!
Please the poster below for details of how to purchase a trail:

Please ensure that you have cleared any outstanding debts for this term by Monday 1st April so that finance reconciliation can be completed.

From us all in the School Office have a restful Easter break.
