Mrs Fidock's news update

Year 5 have returned from Wales and the children who didn't go are now experts in everything chocolate! Thank you to all the children and staff involved, who have ensured that our children will have fond memories of their Year 5.

We sent out a questionnaire to parents in Years 2, 3 and 4 in regards to potentially mixing the children at the end of the year. We do this for Year 5 automatically as they move into Year 6, but wanted to see what the appetite was lower down the school. Thank you to those parents who have responded - this will remain open until Monday, when we will look at the results to inform any decisions.  I just want to reinforce that no decision has been made, we are just gauging opinion.

As you all know, I will be moving on at the end of the academic year to a new role in Somerset. Thank you to all those parents (and children) who have stopped me to wish me well. This has not been an easy decision but as we teach the children, sometimes we have to be risk-takers...! For now it's business as usual and nothing changes.

Our Coronation plans are progressing and you should have received a letter. We hope you are able to join us on the morning of Friday 5th May for our celebrations. Fingers crossed the rain stays away...as we can't manage to house all children and all parents - but if it does decide to rain, we'll have to have a Plan B...watch this space. The following week starts with a Bank Holiday and we are then straight into Key Stage 2 SATs, so it's a busy couple of weeks ahead.

Please also note the dates ahead section that includes all the dates for Sports Days - again weather dependent.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend and we'll see you next week.
