Paddock Wood Primary Academy

Newsletter

Mr page's news update

Being at the heart of the community is something that myself and my staff take huge pride over. We serve the community and work with many different individuals and organisations to make our Academy the best it can possibly be. I am sorry to say that once again, I have received multiple complaints regarding dangerous parking all around the school site and surrounding roads. These complaints include not only dangerous parking but also verbal abuse. Please can I ask you once again to take care when parking. I realise the inclement weather does not help this but it is extremely important.

I huffed and I puffed and... there was no way that I was blowing Early Years' houses down! As part of their learning it was lovely to see so many parents and grandparents in Early Years on Monday afternoon. Their big build project to create a house that was strong enough to withstand a visit from the big bad wolf was a huge success. Well done to all of the children in Reception.

We are looking forward to a busy end of the term. Children are buzzing with excitement as they are once again visiting Young Voices at the O2 arena. This is such a wonderful experience and I know that the children of Paddock Wood Primary Academy will sing their hearts out and take part in an experience that will stay with them forever.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend when it arrives.

This week we are really proud of...

millie 3s & layla 3be

Millie and Layla are both appearing in The Sevenoaks Entertainers pantomime this week.  They have been busy rehearsing since October and can't wait to perform on Thursday, Friday and Sunday this week!  Well done both of you; we are so proud of you!

year 2

Year 2 were very lucky to have a visitor in to share with the children the Muslim faith.

Mr Malik, a parent of the school, kindly held an assembly to share how he worships and why this is important.

The children proudly displayed tolerance and respect by listening well and asking inquisitive questions for Mr Malik to answer.

We hope to have him back in again for another visit!

PWPA Theatre club

PWPA Theatre Club have been lucky enough this week to be working alongside a professional local actor- Phillip Martin Brown. He shared his experience, expertise and knowledge with cast members as they rehearsed scenes from their up and coming production of James and the Giant Peach.

There are still tickets available on MCAS for the production on Monday 18th March at 5.30pm.

Don't miss out on this adventurous classic tale taken from page to stage.

Parking

Please remember that there is no parking on site for parents/carers. The car park is for staff and blue badge holders only. Please do not drive on site at pick up and drop off times. There have been a few incidents this week that have caused concern for the safety of the children.

Please can we also remind parents and carers to park considerately in the surrounding roads when dropping off and collecting children.

Please ensure driveways and access points are kept clear and road markings are adhered to.

If the surrounding roads are busy please utilise the free parking available in the village car parks if necessary.

If you are driving on site at anytime please keep your speed below 10mph.

School gate closures - for the safety of all the children in our school we have to close our gates. To avoid you being locked in please ensure you have left the premises before 9am at the latest.
