Mrs Fidock's news update

Year 6 have all had an adventure this week. Whilst the majority were in Scotland (more about this next week), a group stayed in Kent and explored what the locality has to offer. All the staff involved have commented on how much they, and the children have enjoyed themselves this week. With staff sickness and the Scotland trip, it's been a little tight with staffing this week - thank you for your understanding.

We are delighted that we have been given 2 days at the end of term for our International Baccalaureate Verification visit, to become an IB World School - the whole school has worked extremely hard to get to this point and it would end the year on a high - further information to follow.

Just a reminder, that from Monday we will be a bike and scooter free site. If you ride these to school, could we please ask that you dismount at the gate and walk your scooter or bike either to the new shelter to be stored or until you exit the site again. We have had too many incidents of near-misses and children knocked over - it's just too busy, so thank you for your help with this.

Have a lovely weekend.

This week we are really proud of...

Year 6 Eagle Heights

We received this lovely email about our Y6's visit to Eagle Heights: Today our family were at Eagle Heights and I believe that some of your pupils were there also. We would just like to say what a well behaved bunch of children. When you see school buses you think "oh no screaming kids" but not in this instance. They were very polite and they behaved really well. So they deserve a pat on the back.

Well done to all the children and staff involved.

Green Girls in 5R

A big thank you to the lovely girls in 5R who - after learning about the issues of plastic pollution in our inquiry lessons - decided to take some individual action on our playground last Friday! Great effort girls!

Woody 6S

A parent approached me on Monday to share this about Woody.

While playing in a football tournament, Woody's team won. One of the players from the other team was extremely upset, but rather than celebrating with his team, Woody approached the other player and looked after him.

Woody, you really are a brilliantly kind, respectful and compassionate human-being. You put someone else's feelings before your own. We are so proud of you.
