Mr page's news update
It has been another fantastic week at Paddock Wood Primary Academy. Anti-bullying has been the focus of the week and pupils have had an assembly, they have completed many different activities throughout the week and they learnt all about this as part of their learning in PSHE lessons. We also had amazing support for our 'SPOTacular' day which has raised a large amount of money for Children In Need. Well done everyone who got involved.
"39 days!" was shouted at me by a child yesterday. When I asked what this was for they excitedly said, "until Christmas". It was lovely to spend some time in Early Years who have started learning and singing their nativity songs. I am sure some parents are already humming these throughout the day. We are very much looking forward to all of the Christmas celebrations to come. Please see the 'dates ahead' section for more details of this.
It has been noted by a few members of staff that some parents are not picking up their children on time as a regular occurrance. We understand that there are times that this may happen and things outside of your control occur, however, if this is the case, please can you notify the office that you are going to be a little bit late. We do have a fantastic After School Club for anyone that may need it.
After our long week last week, teachers have once again worked tirelessly to give amazing learning opportunities to every child every day. I would also like to thank everyone in the school community for their continued support and kind words about the school and the whole team.
I hope you all enjoy the weekend when it arrives.

This week we are really proud of...
bertie 4DP
During the half term break Bertie had a surprise visit to a team of archaeologists in Winchester. He and his brother helped the team at Pre Construct Archeology clean up some Roman floor tiles, and measure and log some Anglo Saxon pottery fragments they’d found in a recent dig. Bertie wants to do this when he is older. Well done Bertie, what a great experience!

remembrance sunday
Well done to our school representatives and House Captains for the way they represented the school at Sunday's Remembrance Service at the memorial in Paddock Wood.
They were a credit to our community and the school.
Well done to all.
bereko
We have returned from a successful and enjoyable trip to Bereko in Tanzania. We had the privilege of teaching in both the secondary and primary schools there and the children, despite having very little, were joyful, polite and a pleasure to teach.
They were thrilled with the letters our children had written to them and the friendship bracelets each class had made. The visit gave us the opportunity to strengthen our partnership and we are busy planning ways to support them further and develop our friendship with them.
With your kind support of our fundraising efforts last term, we were able to purchase resources for their very bare classrooms and provide maize to feed the three schools in Bereko for the three months of the year where food is in short supply. This will make sure that children have at least one meal a day and will also encourage them to come to school. We presented Bereko Primary School with lots of second hand uniform and it is lovely to think that children in a small village in Africa are running around with our Paddock Wood School logo jumpers!
Thank you again for all your support and we will be sharing pictures and stories with the children on Monday in assembly.
