Mrs Fidock's news update

This will be our final newsletter of 2022. We would like to thank you all for your continued support this term. We have celebrated Christmas in true style this year and with some of the white stuff to make it even more sparkling! The children in EYFS and KS1 performed brilliantly in their nativities, the children all took part in Christmas Jumper Day for our Christmas lunch and we've still got the Carols to come (providing the playground thaws before Tuesday!). All the carpets are glistening with eco-friendly glitter so it must nearly be the end of term. Thank you to the PTA for organising the Christmas Fun Day and Secret Room too. I'd like to also thank you for your support over the last week with the snow, we know it's not been easy, but everyone has been so understanding while we manage getting 600 children into school safely, teaching them and also trying to clear some of the ice. The staff have also been utterly brilliant managing to get into school - which in some cases took them 2 hours - not easy with a train strike added to the mix along with the icy conditions.

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful time with your family and friends when we get to the end of term on Tuesday and we'll see you on Thursday 5th January 2023.

This week we are really proud of...

orla & edie 6C

Orla and Edie from 6C successfully auditioned to be part of the ensemble for the Wicked Productions Beauty & The Beast pantomime at the EM Forster Theatre, they are now performing in 14 shows over Christmas until 2nd January!

Well done girls - we are really proud of you - love the costumes too!

Well done to Matilda for achieving her 50m swimming badge this weekend. You've made us proud Matilda - congratulations!

esther 3L

Well done Esther for starting your swimming journey and achieving both your level 1 and 2. Your hard work is paying off and we are super proud of you!

kitchen team

An enormous thank you to our wonderful kitchen team, lead by Ruth for managing to cater for our whole-school Christmas dinner. I thought catering for 12 was difficult, but when you have over 500 dinners to cook, taking into account all the allergies etc. and managing very excitable children (and staff!), the team did an excellent job.

Well done, we are so proud to have you as part of our school team.

jojo 3TL

Congratulations JoJo for achieving your Level 1 and Level 2 swimming badges. These are the hardest ones to get - now it's just practise. We are so proud of you - well done!

henry 3TL

Henry, has been racing again. He had a two day championship canicross race in Hampshire last weekend. No camping on site meant 5am alarm calls both days and racing in sub-zero temperatures - perfect for the dogs, if a little challenging for us! Henry raced in the cubs category with Edith our European Sled Hound and accumulated an overall win over the two days. Well done Henry - an excellent result and we are really proud of you!

ruby 6J

Ruby took part in the Mascalls Dance Show last week - The Lion King and she performed brilliantly. Well done Ruby - we are so proud of you.
