Mrs Fidock's news update
It's been a very hot week and still more to come over the weekend and into next week - we have sent out some further guidance, please do take a look.
Well done to Year 1/2 for their successful Sports Day on Monday - it was hot, but the children took part in all their races and events and really did enjoy themselves. Thank you for all your support, it was lovely to hear all the cheering for the different houses.
Whilst it might be the end of term, the learning has continued, thank you to all those parents who were able to come into school on Wednesday to see your child/ren's books. We have seen so much learning taking place this term, across all subjects and year groups and the children have enjoyed their latest inquiries. This has been particularly evident to our International Baccalaureate visitors this week. Despite being virtual, they met with staff, governors, parents and children, they visited lessons, looked at learning and all the evidence we submitted. Whilst we have to wait for the report, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. We'd like to thank our whole community for their hard work and support - if we are granted IB World Status, it's a huge achievement for everyone and something we will be celebrating.
Have a lovely weekend and we'll see you on Monday.

This week we are really proud of...

Felicity was awarded 7 badges at Rainbows last night, including her Silver award. It looks as though you've been an extremely busy Rainbow and demonstrating action in so many different ways.
Well done - we are so proud of you!

For successfully completing her AAT course and passing. Well done, we know it's been a lot of work. Congratulations.
Ryan 3B
We are so proud of Ryan as he got Managers Player of the season. Also proud of how well he dealt with his operation! Well done Ryan - an excellent achievement this year.
Boys football team
Congratulations to the Boys Football Team for winning the Tournament on Friday. Despite the temperature, the boys kept their cool to win against Pembury in the final.
Year 6
On Wednesday, Year 6 were invited by Baxalls to visit the building site of the new Paddock Wood Community Centre, which is now well and truly underway.
The children, who have been working on their own 'building projects', were given the opportunity to not only learn more about planning and construction, they also responded by asking interesting questions and demonstrating impeccable behaviour throughout.
There are now some pupils who are considering careers in the building industry as a result.
Well done everyone!
Leighton, Jagger & charlie 5P
Paddock Wood Football Team is thriving and we have 3 boys with more awards and praise for their skill. All boys play either for Leopards or Tigers and we'd like to congratulate them on their achievements this year - well done boys, our school football team is going to be in safe hands next season!
Office Messages
MCAS (mychildatschool)
137 parents have signed up so far. Thank you. We have an number of parents remaining. As of September this will be the way we will send communication from school to home so please ensure you sign up ASAP so that we can assist you before the end of term in case there are any difficulties.
Payments to School
ParentPay will run a system update at the end of term. In order for this to complete we will need all outstanding balances to be cleared by 11am on Friday 22nd July. We will contact any parents with outstanding balances to ask that they are cleared before this time.
Parking
We continue to receive complaints from local residents regarding parking on local roads during drop off and collection times. Please remember to always park considerately; parking on pavements, blocking driveways etc can be unsafe and put our children at risk. We would also ask that you turn off your engine while your vehicle is parked. More information on the impact of leaving your engine idling can be found here.
Vehicles on site
Can we also remind you that only Blue Badge holders and taxis are allowed to drive on-site. We will challenge any other vehicles, this is to keep our children safe as they walk into and out of school. Please help us to keep them safe.
Scooters/Bikes
Thank you to all those people who have started to walk their bikes and scooters whilst on-site. Please could you ensure that younger siblings are also taken off their scooters/bikes - thank you for your help with this.

Last weekend we called all Positive Affirmation Superheroes to the Lions Carnival and Parade to complete a very important mission. To spread positivity around Paddock Wood and it was definitely MISSION COMPLETED! The Phoenix Dancers each chose a positive affirmation and designed a superhero to represent it. Then, with it written loud and clear, they flew through the streets in the parade spreading their amazing messages.
“I AM UNIQUE”. “I TRY MY BEST, I MATTER”. “I AM BRAVE”. “I DARE TO DREAM”
After a quick change they then performed 5 routines, in one which they showed what great communicators they are as it included singing and signing in Makaton. The organisers mentioned what an inspiration they all were and we walked away with the trophy for ‘Originality’.
Laura is incredibly proud of these caring heroes and hopes they are proud of themselves.
