In Memory of Queen Elizabeth II

1926- 2022

Paddock Wood Primary Academy joins the rest of Great Britain and the Commonwealth in mourning the death of Queen Elizabeth II. We await further guidance regarding any period of national mourning and will let parents and carers know as soon as possible.

We will start today with a two minute silence as a mark of respect.

As a community we send our thoughts and condolences to her family.

God save the King.

Refurbished EYFS

We are delighted with the refurbished EYFS. It has been totally transformed into a calm, purposeful and engaging learning space for our youngest children.

Still a few little finishing touches, but already it looks amazing. We will open it up for parents to have a look once the play area is completed and we can fully unpack...but for now a few little pictures for you.

Thank you to the Trust for this huge investment in our academy.

This week we are really proud of...

Kelsie 6C

On Sunday 4th September Kelsie competed in the East Kent Athletic Competition where she represented PWAC under 11's. She did so well securing 2nd place in the 75m, 2nd place on the 150m and 1st place in the Long Jump and also getting a PB. What an achievement Kelsie - we are really proud of you!

11+

To all those children that sat the Kent Test (11+) this week - well done.

We know you were all a bit nervous, but as we told you at the time, just do your best and no matter what the outcome, we are so proud of you.

robbie 4T & ryan 4G

Robbie and Ryan won the Aylesford football tournament on Sunday.

Ryan was captain and Robbie got U9 Player of the Tournament.

Well done boys - what a brilliant achievement - your team must be delighted. We are really proud of you.

Edie 6c

You may remember that we shared Edie's submission to Kent's Big Writing Challenge. We are delighted to share that on the 30th August 2022, Edie was invited to attend an awards ceremony at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge for Kent’s Big Writing Challenge and won “District Winner - Key Stage 2” for her piece of writing titled My Hero.

Edie’s story was about her 99 year old Great Grandad.

Not only did she win on the day, her story has been published in the Kent’s Big Writing Challenge Finalists 2022 book and she had the privilege of meeting Nick Butterworth, Author and Illustrator of ‘Percy The Park Keeper’.

We are so proud of you Edie - we have a published author at PWPA! Huge congratulations.

Edie with Percy the Park Keeper author and illustrator, Nick Butterworth.

Parking

We continue to politely request that you park responsibly at drop off and collection. Local residents are reporting that cars are being parked irresponsbility and either blocking drives or access. This is not fair and means that residents are unable to leave for work. If we continue to get complaints we will have to refer this to the PCSO.

On-site parking: Just a reminder that only those parents with a disabled badge or taxis should be coming onto site. This is a staff car park only. Senior staff will challenge you if we see you drive on site.

If you have any other particular circumstances that require you to drive onto site, please contact us and we can give permission in exceptional circumstances. The more traffic we have on site increases the risk to those children and families walking to school.

Thank you for your help with this and keeping everyone safe.

Office Messages

Contact: If you need to contact a member of staff, please email into the school office where this will then be forwarded. If you do contact teachers directly , please remember that during the day they are teaching and have duties - and won't be able to respond immediately. We will reply within 48 hours. E.g. if you send an email on a Friday night, the member of staff may not reply until Monday morning. If your message is urgent, please send this into the office or give us a call. Thank you for your help with this.

Recycling picture

I am hoping to make a recycling picture made out of bottle lids.

I will need as many bottle lids as possible to create the murals and so a whole school effort is required!

Please save your bottle lids and either hand these into the office or children can give them to their class teacher.

Thank you for your support.
