It was lovely to end last week with our first ever colour run. It was wonderful to see the children have such a good time and to welcome so many parents to join in the fun. I am sure parents enjoyed their bathrooms becoming multi-coloured when trying to remove the paint. As always, it takes a lot of organisation to put on such great events and I would like to thank our PTA and parent volunteers who helped make this event such a success. The event raised over £6,500 which is amazing. This will be used to develop and improve the school moving into the next academic year. All of the children will benefit from this and I cannot thank everyone involved enough.
The PTA events do not stop there. They have organised the Year 6 leavers disco/prom this evening and we have 'break the rules day' next week. I am looking forward to breaking a few rules with the children. Thank you once again to the PTA and parents for all of the hard work to support the school and to give children the best possible school experience and environment.
The end of the term and academic year is fast approaching. We still have lots to look forward to. The events include a Leigh Academies Trust sports day, class trips and sporting tournaments. Please keep an eye on MCAS, Google Classroom and the key dates on this newsletter.
I hope you all have a good weekend and hopefully there is not too much hiding behind the sofa on Saturday afternoon when England (try to) play football. There is also a wealth of other sporting events for the children to watch and engage with; the British Grand Prix, Wimbledon and England v New Zealand in Rugby Union to name but a few.
I would like to finish this week's newsletter to say how proud I am of all of the children at Paddock Wood Primary Academy. How they conduct themselves on a daily basis is exemplary and they always give their best in all that they do. You should all be extremely proud of each and every one.
See you all next week.
This week we are really proud of...
Well done to William, Elliot, Jersey, Max, Ethan, Otto, Freddie and Joshua, all in Year 4, who play in the Paddock Wood Avengers football team. Last weekend the team finished runners up in the Tunbridge Wells tournament; only narrowly missing out on the win! Well done to all of you!
Poppy and Ruby raised over £150 for a charity raising money to send a little girl to America for heart surgery. They even provided a whole tray of cakes for Baxalls Monday morning board meeting!
Well done both of you for doing such a lovely thing to help someone else!
Brothers Huxley and Kovey both won player of the year for their age groups at their recent football presentation. They both love football and enjoy playing with all their wonderful friends! Go boys!
A huge thank you to our magnificent PTA for organising the Colour Run last Friday.
Through taking part, sponsorship, raffle and other stalls an amazing grand total of over £6.500 was raised!
Thank you for all the hard work that went into organising this event. We can't wait to see the new playground upgrades!
Our year 6 children have spent the last 4 weeks working on their summer exhibition. This year they have been inquiring into what new buildings they would like to design for Paddock Wood. They have researched what our community needs, designed buildings that are practical and sustainable and planned how to make sure their ideas serve the community.
The children have produced outstanding work and we would love as many members of our community to visit the exhibition and hear what the children have achieved.
If you can support our year 6, please come in and have a chat with them about their brilliant projects.
Year 2 - Monday 8th July is the deadline for payment, consent and packed lunch requests for the Year 2 trips to Howletts Wild Animal Park. Please make payment and give consent via MCAS and request a packed lunch via the google form if you haven't already done so. Further information can be found in MCAS>Announcements.

Back by popular demand, the day that all the kids have been waiting all year for… Break the Rules Day is happening on Thursday 11th July!
Yes that’s right, the kids get to break the rules whilst raising funds for the PTA.
Children can break any of the rules listed (up to a maximum of 5) for a cost of 50p to £1 each.
Children should bring the cash to school on the day and tell their teachers which rules they are breaking.
Further details of the rules to break can be found on the poster.
How many will your child choose to break?
Watch out PWPA!
Thank you for your continued support over the academic year, we couldn’t do it without you.
