Mrs Fidock's news update
Another week and a new month. We have so much to celebrate in school this week:
new teepee going into Year 1 area
some fantastic learning in all year groups - thanks to our PYP curriculum...linking subjects and ensuring learning is engaging and ambitous for all children
great use of technology across the school - with QR codes used in books so that we can quickly access vidoes of the child talking about their learning and explaining their choices
an EYFS which continues to flourish and demonstrates high quality provision
a staff team that work together and care for the children
a PTA that run regular events for the benefit of the children like our Valentines Disco
behaviour and attitudes in and around school of the children continue to be exemplary
reading suitcases to come home each week to help children engage with non-fiction, poetry and fiction
a netball team that demonstrated great teamanship in their match
Thank you to those parents who completed the survey, we will come back to you with a 'you said, we will' document after half-term. Remember next Friday is an INSET day for all children, so Thursday 9th February will be the last day of term.

Well done to Hayley for coming 6th in her horse show last weekend - Hayley managed 3 clear rounds and competed to a very high standard. We are so proud of you for your resilience and hard work.

Ethan made this fantastic lego dog with the Inclusion Team this week - we were so impressed with his construction and communication skills...well done Ethan!
Year 5&6 Netball TEAM
A huge well done to our Netball team who played St James' Primary on Thursday. You all showed fantastic teamwork, determination and sportsmanship. You should all be very proud of yourselves.

Each month we are focusing on a different author. Our author for January was Serena Patel and many of us have been enjoying her Detective Agency books.

Cake sale
On Thursday 9th February at the end of the school day, the Wellbeing Champions and the School Council will be holding a cake sale. The cake sale will take place outside the large hall. Any money raised will be to support our school charities - Bereko and the RSPCA. Some of the money will also go towards new toys for our After School Club. We would welcome any donations of cakes for our sale. If you wish to donate any cakes please ensure you include a list of ingredients so that these can be displayed in case of allergies.
national careers week
We will be celebrating National Careers Week from March the 6th - 10th in school and would like children to take part in a competition to celebrate this.
Submissions will be entered into a prize draw, and a class could win a bespoke activity , introducing pupils to real-life role models from the world of work, to learn about a variety of exciting jobs that will broaden their horizons for the future.
There will also be prizes on offer for the runners up!
Please read the details, of the competition and bring your entries to your class teacher by Friday 24th March.

Do you think your child is a Young Carer?
A young carer is someone under the age of 18 who looks after a family member who has a disability, illness, mental health condition, or a drug or alcohol problem.

davss childrens freedom programme
We are delighted to be starting the DAVSS Children's Freedom programme at PWPA for any children who have witnessed or experienced domestic abuse at home.
