Newsletter 7.01.22
Welcome back and Happy New Year.
We still continue to deal with Covid, the current guidelines are:
If you have a positive PCR you only need to isolate for 7 days - providing you have a negative LFT test on day 6 and day 7. If these are positive you must isolate for the full 10 days.
If you have no symptoms, but have a positive LFT you no longer need to get a PCR, but you do need to isolate.
If you have symptoms you should still get a PCR.
In school we have:
Moved all assemblies online.
Moved all meetings online.
Staff are wearing masks in communal areas.
We will inform you if a child in the class gets a positive LFT/PCR.
Despite continuing with Covid, it's been a wonderful first week back. The children have returned, full of enthusiasm and focus and I'm already running out of stickers for lovely work! We warmly welcome our new staff to the Paddock Wood Team and community, so please do go and say hello if you get a chance. I hope you have a lovely weekend and we're looking forward to seeing you all on Monday.
We've started 2022 with energy and engagement, this week we have been really proud of …
Year 4 had an exciting start this term, celebrating a Romans and Celts day. The children all came in dressed in fabulous costumes and enjoyed a day packed full of fascinating, hands on learning, from drilling Roman battle tactics, learning about different jobs and roles and finding out about Roman homes and families. We even watched some gruesome surgery that was performed on Mrs Predescu!
All of the year 4 children were so brilliant and so engaged all day. We were all very proud of you!
Each week we want to give you ideas to enable you to support your child at home with a particular aspect of the curriculum. Our subject leaders will be sharing hints and tips to help you along the way and will be offering further ideas and resources that you might like to access at home. This week our focus is... The PYP Key Concepts
PYP Key Concepts
The PYP’s key concepts are seven 'Big Ideas' that help frame children's learning. When we explore and investigate topics through the key concepts, our children develop a much deeper understanding of what they are learning by asking open questions about each inquiry.
Below are the 8 Key Concepts & the questions they help our children think about.

Covid Communication
We will keep you informed if there are any Covid cases in your child's class, but it is not for anyone to share who this is - even if you know, with other parents. This is confidential information and should remain so. Thank you.
Please be considerate to our neighbours when parking outside the school grounds. We have received several complaints regarding blocked driveways and dangerous parking/driving.
Do you have a pile of old wellies that you don't need? We are looking for sizes 8-10 (childrens) for our EYFS. If you have any you no longer need - we would love to have them, please drop them with EYFS at the beginning or end of the day. Thank you.
