James and the Giant Peach
Children taking part in Theatre Club put on the first performance at PWPA for many years. Their hard work, practice and commitment shone through. I would like to thank Mrs Gough for her hours of preparation, extra hours of rehearsals and passion to give this opportunity to the children. Performing gives many children the opportunity to step out of their comfort zone and build confidence. We are all extremely proud of the children and we are already looking forward to the next show.

The children have had another fantastic week of learning. The favourite part of my week is when children come to show me their learning. I have had many children celebrating their learning and talking with such passion about their learning. In addition to this, children have represented the school in gymnastics. This is the first gymnastics competition we have entered and for the children in Year 3 this was the first opportunity for them to represent our Academy. They did extremely well and we are extremely proud of their achievement. We also invited an author into the school who worked with Year 1. The children were inspired and carried this into their own work within the classroom.
Parents evening
We are looking forward to seeing parents next week for parents evening. EYFS and KS1 will be in the small hall (access via school reception) and KS2 will be in the large hall (access via the side entrance and hall). If your child is in After School Club then please pick them up from the side gate that leads to the back playground. Please do not take your children from the club without speaking to a member of the After School Club team.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend when it arrives.
KS1 had a wonderful day on Thursday with Karin Littlewood. Karin is the author of Immi; one of our core texts in Year 1.
The children enjoyed an assembly where they virtually visited Karin’s studio in London and helped set the scene for the story by making it snow!
Our Year 1 pupils had lots of fun in their workshops with Karin where they became illustrators, planted story seeds and became storytellers.
On Wednesday, girls from our after school Gymnastics Club attended a competition at Leigh Academy Tonbridge.
It was the first gymnastics competition we have entered as a school and also the first time many of the girls had performed.
They did so well and we are really proud of them. Thank you to Harriet Sands who runs our wonderful Gymnastics Club for organising their routines and training the girls in the lead up to the competition.
If you are interested in joining the club, you can sign up next week when Term 5 clubs go live on MCAS.
This week we are really proud of...
Harry received man of the match last Saturday for some outstanding goal keeping. We are super proud of him! Well done Harry.
Freddie received Player of the Week recently for his brilliant performance. Well done Freddie! We are all very proud of you.
Hunter has been competing in husky racing and has finished first in his class, winning the overall championship. Well done!
A massive well done to Mia for representing the school in the LAT baking competition on Wednesday. You made some awesome red velvet cupcakes which were delicious.
Another great match for our girls football team last Friday. They played brilliantly against Claremont school, winning an impressive 4-0 with goals from Darcia, Mia and Evie. The whole team was awesome, well done to all of you.
We have A LOT of lost property. This will be available to go through on Tuesday 26th March from 8.30am-9am on the KS2 playground. Any items not taken will be disposed of or used as spares within the school. Thanks!
Good attendance is vital because:
It improves children’s mental health and wellbeing
Children learn more and enjoy their learning
It helps children to make and maintain friendships
Children are less likely to be at risk of underachievement
Children do not miss out on enrichment opportunities that are vital to their development
Children thrive on routines

Are you looking for a fun activity for the Easter holiday that also raises money for the academy? If so, perhaps you can help the PTA solve a mystery..
Yesterday, Mr Page left an Easter egg on his desk and went to get a cup of coffee. When he returned, there was nothing left on the desk except for a few small crumbs of chocolate
Someone had stolen the Easter egg!
Now we need YOUR help. Over the Easter holiday we need you to follow our trail around Paddock Wood. At each stop you'll find a clue that leads to the name of an innocent teacher that you can cross off the list of suspects. The name left on your list at the end of the trail must be the chocolate thief!
Once you've completed the trail, email the name of the person you think stole the egg to the PTA, along with your child's name and class, to the PTA paddockwoodprimarypta@gmail.com and correct entries will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win an Easter hamper of goodies!
Please see the poster below for details of how to purchase a trail:
