Mrs Fidock's news update

Welcome back to Term 5.

As the weather starts to improve we have started to develop key areas of the grounds - the first element has been started in Key Stage 1 with the small wooded area. Can we please ask that you don't let children play on this before or after school (and this includes younger siblings), so we can keep this area looking great and ready for the children to access during breaktime/lunchtime. We will also be turning the bit of grass at the side of Key Stage 1 into a more wild/meadow area to help attract more wildlife into the school grounds.

We are also looking at creating a time capsule for the Coronation - if you have any ideas of things we might want to include, please let us know. The plan is to plant a tree on the site where it is buried and add a plaque for future generations to see. Our Coronation event is planned for Friday 5th May and this will be in the morning (as Year 3 go swimming in the afternoon). Come along for an enjoyable morning taking you through the decades of King Charles III - more information to follow shortly.

This week we are really proud of...

Isaac Theobald

Isaac has received two awards for horse riding from the riding school he attends. He was also asked to partake in an article in a boy’s riding magazine.

Volunteers at rrt

Thanks to all the volunteers at RRT (Rapid Relief Team) for the amazingly generous food boxes and breakfast bars that they delivered today to support our families in need. We are very grateful and appreciate all your support.

PWPA Football team

Congratulations to our school football team for winning their match this week with a fantastic result of 8 - 0.

Curriculum corner

Each week we want to give you ideas to enable you to support your child at home with a particular aspect of the curriculum. Our subject leaders will be sharing hints and tips to help you along the way and will be offering further ideas and resources that you might like to access at home. This week our focus is.... Our Author of the Month.

Sally Gardner

For the month of April, our author is Sally Gardner, who is a British writer and illustrator. Many of her stories have a magical element or are set in new surroundings. Sally has dyslexia which she thought might hinder her writing. However, she has said, 'I strongly believe that dyslexia is like a Rubik’s Cube: it takes time to work out how to deal with it but once you do, it can be the most wonderful gift.'

Try one of her books which are now available in the library!
