The children are now back into the school routine and moving through their learning. We are planning Parents Evening later this term (using a system called School Cloud which will allow us to be remote), so you can then find out more about what your child has been learning and how they have settled. More information about this will follow. We have been working hard to set up the clubs and we've got so much on offer this term including: Church Fun Club, Art, Pottery, Debating, Football (Y2, Y5/6), Athletics (Y3/4, Y5/6), Netball (Y5/6), Tag Rugby (Y5/6), Coding, Cross Country, Choir, French and Phoenix Dance - there's something for everyone and these will change each big term. We had our first Celebration Assembly on Friday and it was so lovely to see all the children and celebrate their achievements - we will include them each week in our Newsletter so you can see who has impressed their teacher each week.
We continue to be so impressed with the children and their achievements out of school. If you would like us to feature your child and celebrate their success please email your Proud@ information to enquiries@paddockwoodprimaryacademy.org.uk
Edie attends D’Arcy Stage School and has continued her dedication throughout the pandemic and has managed to train for and take 4 exams during the last 6 months - Modern Theatre Grades 1 & 2, Tap Grade 1, Imperial Classical Ballet Grade 2 - all with Distinctions.
During this time, she has also attended rehearsals and performed in Chance 2 Dance at The Stag Theatre, Sevenoaks and auditioned and been successful in getting a part in the stage performance of Peter Pan (The Stag Theatre, Sevenoaks - Show opens October 2021).
What an achievement Edie, well done.
Each week we want to give you ideas to enable you to support your child at home with a particular aspect of the curriculum. Our subject leaders will be sharing hints and tips to help you along the way and will be offering further ideas and resources that you might like to access at home. This week our focus is Geography.
National Geographic has some wonderful links to help engage children with the world around them. Perhaps you wanted to find out about the Rainforest, or maybe what it's like to go to school in St. Lucia? You might want to learn more about hurricanes or even tornadoes? Look no further than this link to help you explore our World. https://www.natgeokids.com/uk/category/discover/geography/
Belongings
Whilst we appreciate that sometimes items do get forgotten in the mornings, please can you ensure that your child has everything they need when they arrive at school each day. Items being delivered throughout the school day take staff away from supporting the children in their learning and cause unnecessary disruption. Please can all items be clearly named to ensure anything lost is returned.
Late arrivals
Please ensure your child is arriving at school between 8.40am and 8.55am. Late arrivals cause disruption to the class and have a detrimental impact on your child's learning.
Payments
All meals and clubs must be paid for in advance. Please ensure you are regularly topping up your child's ParentPay account prior to purchases being made.
Year 4 Art Project
If you have any unwanted colour magazines or comics, Year 4 will be very grateful to receive them for their art project. Donations can be given to the school office or directly to Year 4. Look below to see their first gallery images. Thank you.
Here our the lovely Art Club and look at what they have produced in Week 1! Well done everyone, you are already developing your own style and looking at developing your creative skills. We'll find an area to create a gallery in school, so that everyone can admire and celebrate your work.

CLICK HERE FOR FINE MOTOR SKILL ACTIVITIES TO TRY AT HOME!
Other games and ideas include: building Jenga blocks, Operation, fishing games, playdoh, lego, anything to get those little hands moving is great for fine-motor development and can support children with their handwriting abilities!
We have sought further advice in regards to earrings, particularly in regards to those children who have just had their ears pierced.
All jewellery should be removed for PE including any piercings. For those children who have just had their ears pierced, parents are allowed to tape for the first few weeks (no more than 10 weeks) and then the expectation is that they are removed for PE. The Academy is not able to tape over earrings - this has to be done by the parent in advance/ or the child if the tape is provided from home. We do please ask that you make the office aware if this is the case or when your child first has their ears pierced. We have updated our uniform policy to reflect this further guidance. Thank you to all of you who have responded and for your patience, whilst we wait for a response.
Come and enjoy our new community room!
