The show must go on! Children all around the school have be preparing for upcoming performances. All year groups have been practicing their songs for our Easter Service at St Andrew's Church. Thank you to Miss Truett for organising this and to the church for supporting us. Our production (James and the Giant Peach) is in full swing and there is a buzz of excitement around the school. It has also been wonderful to see so many children enjoying taking part in Rock Steady. These opportunities are so important in boosting confidence in children by taking them out of their comfort zones and creating lifelong memories!
Conduct on school site
I am sorry to have to write this on the newsletter. However, there have been multiple reports from parents, staff and, sadly, children of conduct on school site that does not meet our expectations. There have been multiple instances this week where inappropriate language has been heard and threatening behaviour has also been referenced by the school community. School must be a safe place for all children, staff and parents/carers. Any behaviour that does not meet our expectations will be dealt with and, if these are repeated, it could lead to being banned from the school site. Children need to enter school in a calm manner and ready to learn. These recent events have sadly stopped this from happening. We have an amazing school community and repeat events will not be tolerated. Please can you report any future instances to - maria.wakeford@paddockwoodprimaryacademy.org.uk
Learning
The whole school has been fully immersed into British Science Week. There have been many different experiments and virtual visits taking children into the wonderful world of Science.
I was also transported back in time as Year 3 welcomed in an Ancient Egyptian Workshop. The children's knowledge and enthusiasm was amazing.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend when it arrives.
This week we are really proud of...
Well done Axel for winning Player of the Week at your football club. We are all very proud of your sporting achievement.
When dropping children off late, please ensure you stay with your child(ren) until you know they have been signed in and a member of staff called to collect them if necessary or they have been buzzed through reception to make their way to class. There have been an increasing number of children coming in to reception late and parents/carers leaving without making sure their child(ren) has been signed in. The children are then becoming distressed; upset; dysregulated and confused and not ready to engage in learning or the class activity. It is the parent/carers responsibility to make sure that their child(ren) has been seen by reception and knows what is happening next.
The cost of living is having its effect on us all. We have been lucky enough to receive some food boxes from RRT (Rapid Relief Team). Their help has been invaluable over the years and we encourage all parents to have a look at the support they offer. Thank you from us all RRT.
