It has been another amazing week at Paddock Wood Primary Academy and we have so many things to celebrate! The children have taken part in a RockSteady concert, break the rules day and our own Olympic celebrations (see pictures below). We have one week left until the end of term and the end of this academic year but the amazing experiences offered to all of our children have continued.
Year 6
Our Key Stage 2 SATs results were published on Tuesday. Every member of staff are so very proud of what our wonderful Year 6 children have accomplished this year. Every child has made progress this year and our results as an Academy are above the National Average once again. Individual results will be shared with parents on MCAS by the end of today. It is not our only way that we measure success, however the children and staff who the children have worked with throughout KS2 deserve the recognition for all of their hard work. Well done everyone!
Sporting Success
I am pleased to announce that we have retained our titles as winners of both, LAT Primary Sports Day and LAT Kwik Cricket champions. The children took part against 16 other Primary Academies and once again showed their talent. The children continue to represent Paddock Wood in so many different events and they do so with sportsmanship, resilience and enjoyment - we are so proud of you all.
Reports
Reports will be sent to parents today. The staff have all worked so hard to make this a successful year for the children and their enjoyment in their learning is what shines through when you speak with them and look around the school. Please take time to read through the reports with your child/ren - they are on MCAS - and celebrate their achievements, look at their next steps and if you have any questions, please speak to the class teacher.
There has been a buzz of excitement around the school. This is possibly excitement for the end of term, but a certain historic event on Sunday has been referenced a lot. Hopefully Monday has some tired but extremely happy children.
Whatever you are doing this weekend, I hope you have a wonderful time and we will see you for our final week of school.
The PTA once again put on an outstanding Leavers' Party for our Year 6 children last Friday.
The night was a fantastic success; full of fun, treats, music and dancing.
Thank you so much to everyone that lent a hand in making this event an amazing one!
This week we are really proud of...
Robbie and Ryan just missed the win in the TWYFC U11'S tournament with Rusthall FC, but they returned the next day and won the TWYFC U10's tournament with TW Youth! A brilliant weekend of football. Well done boys!
Lottie has achieved her Bronze Award for swimming this week. Well done Lottie, we are so proud of you!
Freya, Elsie and Maggie, all in 1E, have been working hard on their gymnastic skills. On Sunday they performed in the ‘Summer Showcase’ and showed the audience that their hard work has paid off. Keep up the hard work girls!

This year we have had the pleasure of running Rock Steady Music School and it has been a huge success! This week, our debut concert gathered the crowds and everyone was bursting with pride for each performer on stage.
All pupils and audience members were enthused, encouraged and had the most fun performing their instruments as a band! Everyone gained a ‘festival feel’ experience as an audience or a performer, which created a lovely atmosphere to end this term and show off the hard work across all year groups.
If you would like to sign your child up for next year, see how to on this RockSteady Website.
The Young Carers Club, KFC (Kind Friendly Carers) ended the term in style with a very chocolatey summer party! We were very lucky to have Sarah from Temper Temper come join us for a chocolate workshop. Lots of laughter and fun later some awesome chocolate creations were made.
The Wellbeing Champions also made it to the YC Newsletter for Imago after the support they gave during Carers Week writing the KFC Club letters to make them feel seen, heard and appreciated.
Our Young Carers have achieved so much this year. They are an awesome group who are all so supportive of each other and we at Paddock Wood Primary Academy are so proud of each and every one of them. Over the summer please do check out Imago for updates of activities and events.

Each week we want to give you ideas to enable you to support your child at home with a particular aspect of the curriculum. Our subject leaders will be sharing hints and tips to help you along the way and will be offering further ideas and resources that you might like to access at home. This week our focus is....
Reading continues to be a much loved area of our curriculum. Over the summer, the library will be running their annual reading challenge.
Last week 20 children completed a 20 week program through Trinity Theatre called Speech Bubbles. Speech Bubbles is a weekly drama programme taking place in school time, designed to give young children an opportunity to have fun telling stories and acting them out.
The programme has a particular emphasis on supporting children to gain confidence and develop their physical and verbal communication skills. Each one of the children broke down barriers, gained confidence and should be super proud of all they have achieved. I know Rachel, our Speech Bubbles practitioner, Miss Juson and Mrs Drury are.
Well done you superstars!
