The sun is finally shining and it has been wonderful to welcome the children back into school for the final module of the year. I cannot believe we are here already. Children across the school have started preparations for their upcoming sports days and it has been lovely to hear them linking this to the imminent arrival of the Olympics this summer.
It has been a busy week. Year 4 have organised a specialist cricket coach to come into school and deliver sessions for the whole module. Please guide your children to watch some of the T20 World Cup cricket that is being held in USA now. 1T started the trips to Bodiam Castle and it was lovely to hear how well they represented the school and how knowledgeable they were on the visit. 1E and 1P have their trips next week. Year 5 had an inspirational day with an Arctic Explorer where they learnt about all things sustainable and have been busily working on their own projects. Year 6 are fully engaged in preparing for their exhibition. This is the culmination of all their learning throughout the PYP curriculum and they have full agency to show their own ideas and learning. This year they are focussing on their community.
Alongside all of this wonderful learning, it was a pleasure to invite all the new parents to our open morning and evening yesterday and we look forward to seeing them all next year. Our brilliant Early Years team welcomed them alongside our fantastic PTA. If you would like to support them please let your class teacher know or contact them directly. They are integral in supporting the Academy and more importantly every child in the school. Please look at the poster for an amazing colour run that is being organised for later this month.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
