Dear Parents and Carers,
I can't quite believe how quickly this term has passed by. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know your children and many of you across this fast paced start to the year. Seeing so many of you attending parental engagement sessions across the past two weeks has also been fantastic; I know how proud the children are to show you their learning. We can't wait to see you all for parent consultations on November 13th and 14th. Thank you to parents who have contacted the office should our time slots not work around your working patterns, we will endeavour to ensure you can see you child's class teacher at a time convenient to you (even if this requires a meeting on another date entirely), we want you to be informed about all aspects of school life.
We have seen this term out with a bang which is very fitting with our upcoming PTA Fireworks on Saturday 9th November 2024. Thank you to all of you who brought in contributions for the tombola during our own clothes day. It is sure to be a fantastic event and your generosity will help add to the evening.
Please be reminded that our return date from half term is Monday 4th November when we will be on the downhill stretch towards Christmas. We are currently finalising our Christmas plans and will be notifying you all of dates and times to add to your calendars as soon as possible.
I hope you all have a fantastic half term break and that the children return to school well rested.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Moore
This week we are really proud of...
We are really proud of Matthew’s efforts and enthusiasm in his swimming lessons. He has demonstrated great improvements and was awarded his Stage 5 certificate last week. Well done Matthew!
We are incredibly proud of Lakithi who took part in the Race for the Kids Charity Run last Saturday in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. You had a great time completing the run along with tackling the climbing wall when you were finished. Nice one Lakithi.
Well done to Year 4 for having the best attendance this term - 97.7%! Year 5 were close behind with 97.3%!!
As always, we will continue to promote and celebrate the best attendance here at Leigh Academy Paddock Wood. The effects of poor attendance can be long lasting, both academically and socially for children. We would urge all parents to think carefully about any unnecessary absence from school.
