Dear Parents and Carers,
Yesterday you will have received a letter inviting your views on the possibility of early closure on Wednesday afternoons. The letter provides more details so please take the time to read it. Other schools (including Local Authority and Multi Academy Trust) have moved to this model successfully but we must recognise that every school is unique and must be managed in such a way to work for all stakeholders. I do also want to stress that this is simply a consultation in line with all of the the other Leigh Academies Trust Primary Schools. I am genuinely seeking your input so that I can feed your views back. I value your opinions and will ensure that we act accordingly.
Whilst there are clear benefits, we are fully aware of the potential challenges and are keen to explore whether these can be addressed or if they simply make the model unviable altogether. I encourage you all to share your thoughts, but please do so with kindness and respect through the email channels provided in the letter. Thank you to everybody who has emailed in already, please keep them coming in. I will wait to gather all responses until the closing date of June 26th before responding, your questions, queries and points made are invaluable, thank you.
Yours sincerely and have a lovely weekend,
Mr Moore
This week our overall academy attendance has been 95.4%.
Our winning year group is Year 5 this week with 97.2% so congratulations to all pupils for being in school as much as you can!
All Year 5 children have received some additional playtime today to celebrate this...and of course will be the holders of the Attendance Weekly Cup for a week!
This week we are really proud of...
Jessica has been working hard in her Acro Flight club sessions to improve her flexibility. Well done Jessica; we are so proud of you!
Last weekend our Office Manager, Mrs Wakeford, took part in a sponsored motorbike ride along with around 100 other riders. An amazing £23,500 was raised with Whizz Kidz for children in Kent. Well done, Mrs Wakeford!
We are super proud of Barney for passing his Stage 7 swimming award, and Betsie for passing Stage 2! Well done both of you!
Eva has been working really hard to raise £140 for EYFS' Miles in May! She walked a mile a day over 5 days, one mile for every year old that she is. She even managed to walk 3.5 miles in ONE day while at Bedgebury Pinetum. Well done, Eva!
The PWI's have finally completed their survey of the school asking all students how many of them have a phone, an i-pad or a gaming device. We were shocked by some of the results which we will share with everyone. Watch out for them on the playgrounds during drop offs - we need some info from you as parents now!
Our police cadets enjoyed a session on how to fill in a notebook this week. An interesting fact PC Trinder told us was that you can be given a doughnut consequence (where you have to buy your whole team a doughnut) if you ever do something silly and that this is why police are always linked to eating doughnuts!
Scooters & Bikes- A reminder that scooters and bikes should not be ridden within the school grounds. Please ensure your child dismounts once they arrive at school and wheels their scooter or bike to the bike shed. Thank you

Year 5 - Registration for the Kent Test is now open. Please see MCAS>Announcements for more information. Don't forget to also let us know that you have registered and request special access arrangements if required. If you are unsure about whether you wish your child to sit the test please register them!
