Dear Parents and Carers,
What a week! World Book Day is always full of smiles but this World Book Day felt very special. The children were so proud of themselves and their peers, enjoyed embracing their characters and worked their absolute hardest in all of their learning producing amazing writing. The costumes were absolutely amazing, thank you all for your hard work preparing them.
On World Book Day, Year 4 also had a Kent Police internet safety talk which you can read more about below. The importance of internet safety and awareness of current trends is vital. The internet and the world of social media moves so rapidly that it can be a very dangerous place. We regularly revisit our computing curriculum and cover PSHE themes around staying safe online. We are also always available to speak with parents should you have any concerns or want advice. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
It is so exciting to see so many events taking place to enrich and deepen children's learning, not just in the classroom but in the world around them.
We hope to develop children into digitally literate global citizens who understand how to have a positive impact on the world around them and appreciate all members of our community. We really appreciate your support in doing so and look forward to involving you all in your children's learning journey as often as possible. The next opportunity to do so is during parents evening on Tuesday 25th and 27th March, please sign up via MCAS for the chance to meet with your child's teacher.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and get a chance to enjoy the spring weather.
Yours sincerely
Mr Moore
This Thursday, we were lucky enough to have two Kent Police Officers, from the Child Centred Policing Team, delivering a very informative talk about internet safety.
We learnt lots of interesting facts about how to be as safe as we can when online, remembering that whilst there are risks, the internet allows us access to a world of information.
We will also be taking applications from any year 4 students that would like to be part of a new group we will be starting called the Paddock Wood Influencers who will look at ways to support all students online.
