Mr Moore's News Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
There has been an awful lot of excitement across the academy this week as we have begun taking our learning further afield and into the community with Year 2 travelling to Matfield using our minibuses. You will continue to hear news of year groups preparing to venture into the world outside of Paddock Wood to ensure our learning is immersive, meaningful and relevant. A drive for us is to ensure that children are able to apply their skills and knowledge into real word contexts and develop key life skills in our Personal Development offer.
You will also see that we are now advertising our open events via QR code on our minibuses. By scanning this code, it allows the device user to book onto our latest open events. In this case, we are advertising our imminent EYFS open days for our September 2026 intake. The tours are on the following days: 25th September, 1st and 6th October. On each day the events are from 9:15-10:45 and 1:45-3:15. We hope to see existing parents and of course new members of our community too. Please share these dates with any family and friends who are hoping to secure a place in Reception next year.
We are currently monitoring our carpark permit system and are aware that our carpark is being used by those who do not possess our allocated permits. If vehicles use our site without an issued permit (from the main office) then it is preventing those from parking who need it most.
Yours sincerely, and have a lovely weekend,

PARKING - week 3 and we have already received numerous complaints from our neighbours about inconsiderate parking. Please, please park safely, sensibly and considerately on the streets surrounding the school site.
Do you or your friends have any children due to start Reception in Sept 26? Please tell them about our upcoming open days.

Proud at Paddock Wood
Darcie competed over the summer with her pony Razz. We are all really proud of her achievements. Look at all those rosettes! Well done Darcie.
Poppy entered her first garden show last weekend in Capel and won first prize in two categories.
She’s worked hard all summer learning how to grow fruit and vegetables and has really adopted this as a hobbie.
Well done Poppy - keep up the great work.
Absolutely OBSESSED with these affirmation pieces the Young Carers created. Each one is bursting with personality, colour, and confidence. Seeing them proudly declare who they are—funny, creative, kind, unique—makes our hearts so full! What a beautiful reminder that art isn’t about making something pretty, it’s about celebrating who we are. We love everything our Young Carers are, keep being you guys, you are amazing!
Mrs Drury.
#WakeUpWednesday is a campaign by the National Online Safety organisation. It's designed to help parents and carers stay informed about the latest online trends and platforms that their children might be using.
Every Wednesday, a new guide or resource is released, offering simple tips and advice on how to keep children safe online. These guides cover a range of topics, from popular apps and games to general online safety issues like cyberbullying and privacy. The goal is to start a conversation between adults and children about staying safe in the digital world.
We will upload these guides/resources here every week.
