Last Saturday Isabel was awarded a Filmmaker Of The Week certificate from the Pauline Quirke Academy. Well done Isabel; we are so proud of you!

For being a thinker, you have thought carefully about the positives of moving to Paddock Wood and produced a persuasive piece of writing.

For being a balanced and principled learner; no matter the task you give everything 100%. The pride for your learning is evident in every piece of work you create, you are a star!

This week you have been knowledgeable and open minded when discussing the Windrush. You were able to produce writing which had Year 6 skills whilst including knowledge on this historical event. 

You showed fantastic enthusiasm and vocabulary knowledge for writing. Your communication of ideas when contributing in class was wonderful to see.

Kyan has shown true commitment as a principled learner this week. Being an effective inquirer has allowed him to produce a lovely timeline of the space race. Keep up the good work. 

For being a resilient and knowledgeable learner with your maths. When you encountered a tricky method, you worked diligently to master it - showing excitement and determination. Keep up the brilliant learning. 

George you have been such a risk taker this week, especially in your writing!  You have shown your skills, knowledge and sense of humour in your instructions 'How To Fight Like A Celt'.  We are really proud of the care and effort you have put in.  Keep it up!

Throughout this term, Hendri has been extremely knowledgeable on the history of Britain and shown his eagerness to share this knowledge during class discussions and his writing - I am very proud of your work ethic, Hendri.

For being a good communicator, creatively expressing his thoughts and feelings in his Polar Express story - well done Alex!   

Olivia has been an excellent communicator when contributing in class, especially in maths. Keep up the good work!

Luke has been an excellent thinker and considered ways to add his knowledge about volcanic eruptions to his story. Keep it up!

Scarlett has been a fabulous creative thinker this week. She has thought about the story we are reading together and has used it to make an incredible story board and plan for her own story.   Well done Scarlett!

For being an inquirer. This week you have shown a real desire to write and have been keen to push yourself. It’s been lovely to see. Well done!

Melissa has been an inquirer this week. She has contributed well towards our conversations about Queen Elizabeth I. Melissa has accessed our inquiry with an open mind and had a fantastic approach to learning. Her piece of writing about the Queen was well thought out and presented neatly in her book. Well done Melissa. 

For being an inquirer during our research lessons this week. She has created a brilliant knowledge organiser, using a book creator text to help her find out more about the Tudors. Well done Myah, you make an excellent researcher!

For being a wonderful risk-taker this week. You have worked extremely hard and challenged yourself to write full sentences during our writing lessons. You should be very proud of your efforts when retelling the story of ‘The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig.’ You sequenced the story correctly using first, next and then and confidently used full stops at the end of each sentence.

For being a wonderful communicator. You have lovely ideas and are able to communicate these brilliantly. You have challenged yourself to construct your own sentences, which you did fantastically. Keep up the amazing work!

For being a knowledgeable learner and working extremely hard in all areas of your learning. We loved seeing your progress in phonics this week and seeing that being applied in your retelling of the story. You sequenced your sentences and key words very well. Keep up the fantastic work and remember those finger spaces!  

For being a risk-taker this week. She has been very brave returning to school and we are really proud of her. Well done!

For being an excellent communicator! It has been wonderful to see Sky becoming more confident when expressing herself. We love learning about all her interests and especially what makes her laugh! Well done.
