Mr Moore's News Update
Dear parents and carers,
I write to you following a rather busy week! Across the school we have had a number of workshops with National Rail, the next round of our talent competition, a Young Carers Assembly, Mike Martin the local MP deliver a talk with year 6 and so much more. We hope to have provided topic for conversation around the dinner table.
We also look forward to welcoming you to parents evening next week on Tuesday and Wednesday. If you haven't booked a slot yet, then the deadline is 7pm this evening (21/11/2025). I can't stress the importance of these meetings enough in being able to provide rich feedback about your child and their progress with us against all aspects of learning and development. You will also have the opportunity to look at your child's book work whilst you wait for your meeting slot.
With a number of near misses and careless driving incidents across recent weeks, our Senior Leadership Team will begin manning the vehicle gates from next week. Only blue badge owners (with visible permits) and taxis will be permitted to access the school site through morning drop off, afternoon pick up and after school club pick ups. We do not have sufficient space for all vehicles to enter our site safely and I cannot risk the safety of children and families entering and leaving our school site. I encourage all of our community to park safely and responsibly on one of our neighbouring roads or to walk to school whenever possible.
Yours sincerely and have a lovely weekend,
Mr Moore

Genevieve competed in an Aerial Arts competition and came first in her category. Such an amazing performance and we are so proud of all she has achieved.
Amelia and Riley have worked really hard to get pocket money so they can spend it on helping the local community store the last couple of months and with help from their mum's work they managed to get 35 calendars, 35 selection boxes and a couple of stocking fillers.
They were super proud with their hard work and wanted to try and get others involved with their pocket money going to good causes during this holiday season.
We are super proud of you too girls. What a lovely, caring thing to do. Thank you.
Since the beginning of the school year a group of children, from lower KS2, have been taking part in an intervention titled 'Confident Characters'.
This intervention aims to improve communication skills, confidence and wellbeing through storytelling and play. It has given the children a safe space to grow and help support that inner confidence inside them bloom. And bloom they have. We are so proud of all they have achieved in these sessions, pushing themselves and stepping out of their comfort zones and we look forward to following their journey as they continue to grow!
'I feel more confident everywhere around school'
'I love the acting. games and story, I am a more confident person'
'It really helped me believe in myself'
'I like Confident Characters because it helped me learn more at school and it's fun to do stuff with new friends'
Finding ways to express our emotions varies from person to person. It's great to open the children up to as many different opportunities to find a healthy way they feel comfortable to release feelings. With this in mind I threw the KFC crew a challenge before half term. They had to become rappers, singers or poets and the results were epic. Beats were dropped, lyrics sung and the children all listened and came together realising they were not alone in their struggles.
Have a look at their fantastic work.

"My name is ...... and I'm here to say,
being a Young Carer is hard ok,
I care for my mum, she finds it hard to walk but we always have good talks,
It's hard because we miss places, therefore I miss seeing alot of faces,
But it ain't so bad I've got KFC,
I know the group is always there for me."

"Oh no here comes trouble, someones burst my bubble
Now I'm late for school again my brother wont stop trying,
and now my brain is frying from all of these shenanigans,
there could be some gains,
KFC is on the way to stop me going insane,
Hurray Hurray,
let's get going, maybe some art or bowling,
thats a good start,
or how about we make some music making,
now I can start cooking,
now no more house points gone,
now I'm number 1 and that is why I wrote this song,
Now my worries are all gone!"
Competition Rules
Students are invited to sign up with their class teacher to take part in this year’s talent show!
Perform solo or team up with up to 4 friends.
Each year group will hold a heat to select the top three acts, who will then advance to the final on 18th December.
Please think carefully about your choice of music or type of performance. While we can accommodate a variety of acts, space is limited, and props must be reasonably sized.
We can’t wait to see the amazing talents our students will share!

#WakeUpWednesday is a campaign by the National Online Safety organisation. It's designed to help parents and carers stay informed about the latest online trends and platforms that their children might be using.
Every Wednesday, a new guide or resource is released, offering simple tips and advice on how to keep children safe online. These guides cover a range of topics, from popular apps and games to general online safety issues like cyberbullying and privacy. The goal is to start a conversation between adults and children about staying safe in the digital world.
We will upload these guides/resources here every week.
