Dear Parents and Carers,
I wanted to start off by saying how proud I am of our Year 6 cohort. They approached the SATs this week with maturity, resilience and the desire to do their absolute best. To hear so many children talking about 'smashing it' and demonstrating such a confident mindset has been inspiring. They should all be proud of what they have achieved and thoroughly deserve to enjoy a week of trips and fun activities next week. I hope they have a fabulous time.
Whilst the school was a little quieter than normal this week, there has been a great deal of inquiry based learning taking place as usual.
Year 3 headed off to the train station in their bid to understand more about the key features of our community and how it has changed over the course of time. It is such learning which sets our curriculum apart (as an International Baccalaureate school), in which the children are challenged to apply their learning to local and wider contexts. We want every child to not just have knowledge but the skills to use it in every walk of life.
A good starting point for conversations at home about current learning is to ask your child/children "What is your Central Idea?" or "Can you tell me about your inquiry this term?" both are great launchpads to find out where the learning is going and how it can be further explored outside of school.
Next week looks to be a great final week of term with so many exciting events taking place before the half term break. Please continue to check the dates section below as we approach a jam packed term 6!
Yours sincerely and enjoy a lovely weekend.
Mr Moore

We look forward to more opportunities opening up in the future.
