Mr Moore's News Update
Dear parents and carers,
It has been a fantastic week kicking off the festive season for us here at Leigh Academy Paddock Wood.
I had the pleasure of watching Year 1 perform their Christmas production at St Andrew's Church. It felt such a fitting setting for their Christmas story to be told. The children had rehearsed countless times and did such an amazing job. We are all very proud of them for remembering lines, lyrics, choreography and having the confidence to perform in front of so many people! Well done!
This week has been jam packed with so much more including the Pantomime which was met with rapturous applause and a great many laughs too; Rocksteady which showcased our amazing rockstars who brought the house down, as always; Christmas dinner which was great fun and hopefully enjoyed by all (I heard fantastic feedback and enjoyed seeing so many Christmas jumpers) and rehearsals in preparation for next week too!
I anticipate there being a lot of tired children arriving home today!
Please be reminded that next Friday is our last day of term and a half day with the children due to be collected at 1:30.
Yours sincerely and have a lovely weekend,
Mr Moore

Proud at Paddock Wood
The Wellbeing Champions have been busy creating this year's school advent calendar. This year we turned positive affirmations christmassy to spread self belief and joy this season. Each day an affirmation will be added until our tree is full of positivity. We look forward to seeing all the Christmas smiles around the academy! Merry Christmas!
Take a look at some of our fantastic children taking part in Rocksteady. They performed on Wednesday afternoon and they were totally 'Rock and Roll'.
Well done to all that performed!
Competition Rules
Students are invited to sign up with their class teacher to take part in this year’s talent show!
Perform solo or team up with up to 4 friends.
Each year group will hold a heat to select the top three acts, who will then advance to the final on 18th December.
Please think carefully about your choice of music or type of performance. While we can accommodate a variety of acts, space is limited, and props must be reasonably sized.
We can’t wait to see the amazing talents our students will share!
Prize

#WakeUpWednesday is a campaign by the National Online Safety organisation. It's designed to help parents and carers stay informed about the latest online trends and platforms that their children might be using.
Every Wednesday, a new guide or resource is released, offering simple tips and advice on how to keep children safe online. These guides cover a range of topics, from popular apps and games to general online safety issues like cyberbullying and privacy. The goal is to start a conversation between adults and children about staying safe in the digital world.
We will upload these guides/resources here every week.
