Dear Parents and Carers,
This week really has been inspiring and a fabulous way to finish this term. From cake sales to the Wizard of Oz and even Rock Steady performances in there too. I have loved watching the children excel and perform.
The performances of the Wizard of Oz were amazing, all children involved did an absolutely fantastic job. The hard work started months ago with children deciding their roles, learning their lines, preparing lighting and set design and it all came together this week in a number of brilliant performances. It was without doubt the best performance I have seen in a primary school and all of the children should be very proud of themselves.
Only a matter of hours later, our musicians took to the stage (many of whom flying straight in from Oz to perform) and I am sure those who attended will agree that the children did themselves and us proud. To work collaboratively, remember sequences of music off by heart and do so all in front of a large audience took great courage and I was so impressed.
These fantastic events have built upon a term full of hard work and being inquisitive and creative. I hope parents evening gave you all the opportunity to learn about your child's progress and we will shortly be preparing pupil reports for term 6. Should you need any updates in the interim then please maintain healthy dialogue with your child's teacher whether that be on the class doors or by organising a meeting or phone call, we want to do all we can to support.
I wish you all a restful Easter Break, I hope there are ample opportunities to enjoy spring time together.
I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 22nd April, remember the Bank Holiday Easter Monday!
Thank you to everyone who came and supported Theatre Club's production of The Wizard of Oz this week. If you missed it we have put a tiny snippet of this great show below for you to enjoy!
This week our overall academy attendance has been 94.8%. This academic year we are sitting at 95.6% in total so that is great - especially given all the sickness bugs, viruses and rashes we have been notified about (or seen in some cases!!).
Our winning year group is Year 3 this week with 97.3% so congratulations to all pupils for being in school as much as you can!
Special mention to 6C for 100% this week!!
All Year 3 children have received some additional playtime today to celebrate this...and of course will be the holders of the Attendance Weekly Cup for a week!

Looking for a local, family friendly activity over the Easter holiday? Why not have a go at the PTA's 'Whodunnit?' trail and solve the mystery of who stole Madame Ait-Mansour's Easter bonnet?!
Madame Ait-Mansour's Easter bonnet has gone missing. After our success last year in solving the mystery of Mr Page’s missing Easter egg, Mme Ait-Mansour quickly called in the PTA to help track down the thief. We’ve interviewed everyone, got a list of suspects, and a trail of clues and puzzles to solve. Now we need YOUR help. Grab your magnifying glass and notebook, download the trail sheet from https://pta.events/Whodunnit25 (or scan the QR code at the bottom of the pic), and follow the trail around Paddock Wood.
When you've solved the case, you'll be able to enter the PTA's prize draw to win some Easter treats! Trail costs £1.50 and full details of how to enter the draw are on the trail sheet. The trail follows a loop around the town, starting at the primary academy and ending at the Memorial Park/Community Centre.
