Mr Moore's News Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we reach the end of this incredibly busy module, I want to take a moment to reflect on the fantastic progress and wonderful experiences our children have shared. It has been a term full of learning, discovery, and community spirit.
One of the highlights of recent weeks has been the series of highly successful parental engagement sessions. It has been a real pleasure to welcome so many of you into school to share in your children's learning journey. These sessions provide invaluable insight into how our inquiry based curriculum allows children to pursue their own questions and have a say in the direction of their learning.
Our Year 4 parents recently joined the children to play the brilliant board games that the pupils designed and crafted themselves. This was a culmination of work across the module looking into innovative individuals over time and how technology has advanced at such a rapid rate.
Over in Year 5, parents were treated to a showcasing of the children’s architectural talents. They had the opportunity to admire the meticulous designs and completed final models of their birdhouses. It was wonderful to see the pupils speaking so confidently about their design process and the practical skills they have developed.
The EYFS parental engagement sessions were also a tremendous success, serving as a beautiful celebration of the children's discoveries and learning. Seeing their curiosity and enthusiasm shared so openly with their families was heart-warming and highlights the amazing progress from September to now. We are very proud of how far our youngest learners have come and can't wait to see them flourish moving into Year 1.
In addition, our Forest School pilot sessions have now concluded. I am delighted to report that they have been absolutely amazing. The children embraced the opportunity to learn outdoors, developing resilience, teamwork, and a profound appreciation for nature. This experience has been truly transformative, and we are excited to begin rolling out sessions to all children across the school. Seeing cihldren learn in nature is so powerful. It presents an opportunity to showcase and develop a range of skills in an entirely different context.
Finally, as we head into the Easter half term break, I wish you and your families a peaceful holiday. I hope you enjoy the time together and some well-deserved rest.
We are very much looking forward to seeing all the children back at the academy on Monday, 20th April, ready for another term full of opportunity and achievement.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Moore

Proud at Paddock Wood
A massive congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 football team, who recently represented Leigh Academy Paddock Wood at a thrilling tournament hosted by Leigh Academy Langley Park. Our players didn't just show off their impressive skills on the ball; they demonstrated world-class sportsmanship and incredible communication. It was their ability to work together as a united team—supporting one another through every tackle and pass—that led them all the way to a well-deserved victory. We are extremely proud of their hard work, their resilience, and the way they represented our academy. Well done, champions!

#WakeUpWednesday is a campaign by the National Online Safety organisation. It's designed to help parents and carers stay informed about the latest online trends and platforms that their children might be using.
Every Wednesday, a new guide or resource is released, offering simple tips and advice on how to keep children safe online. These guides cover a range of topics, from popular apps and games to general online safety issues like cyberbullying and privacy. The goal is to start a conversation between adults and children about staying safe in the digital world.
We will upload these guides/resources here every week.
