About Time2Track

The PH Program uses the online fieldwork management system called Time2Track to make it easier for students, Field Instructors, and university staff to keep track of students’ fieldwork. The Learning Contract, time logs, and evaluations are housed in Time2Track. Questions regarding Time2Track should be directed to the Practicum Coordinator. Students and Field Instructors may log in with their username and password at: Time2Track.com.

*Note: Time2Track and may be initially routed to your spam folder.

Students are responsible for purchasing a six-month membership shortly before the start of the field semester. Students use Time2Track to:

    • Complete necessary forms, including the Release of Information, Placement Agreement, and Learning Contract

    • Record fieldwork hours and reflect on activities completed

    • Review the Learning Contract as needed

Field Instructors receive their invitation to activate their account via email. Field Instructors will use Time2Track to:

    • Electronically sign forms (Placement Agreement, Learning Contract)

    • Review and approve student time and activity logs as they are submitted

    • Complete evaluations of student performance

Logging Hours (Students)

Logging activities (hours) on Time2Track is a key communication tool between the student, Field Instructor, and Practicum Coordinator. Students are expected to log their activities promptly after completing them. Time spent logging activities counts toward field hours (in other words, before "clocking out" for the day, students should allocate time to log their activity, including a brief description of their work completed that day).

Students are expected to:

  • log your activities as you complete them

  • for each entry, include a brief description of what you completed

  • at least once a week, add a brief reflection to an entry (or enter a new 0-hr activity) to help your field instructor understand what you’re experiencing in the field.

Some example self-reflection questions you may choose to use as a prompt for your entries:

  • What was the best thing from your fieldwork this week, and how did/do you feel about it/what did you learn from it?

  • How does your fieldwork relate to a concept, topic, or reading from a class you’ve taken for your major? What about a class outside your major?

  • What did you least enjoy or find the most difficult about your field experience this week and how did/do you feel about it/what did you learn from it?

  • What compliments or critical feedback did you receive this week, and how did/do you feel about it/what did you learn from it?

  • How have you changed/grown since you began your fieldwork?

  • What have you learned about the people you work with or the community members your site works with? How have your perceptions changed?

  • How are you feeling about something that is upcoming at your field site? Is this how you want to feel about it? Why/why not?

  • How would you do things differently, if you were in charge at your field site?

  • How does your fieldwork connect with your own longer-term goals (e.g. career goals)?

  • How contributions have you made at your field site? How do you feel about this, and what have you learned about yourself?

  • Which developmental stage are currently you at, and how do you know?

  • What is an emotion you felt this week in relation to your fieldwork, and why did you feel this way? Emotion wheel - click and scroll down.

  • What has been most rewarding about this field experience so far, and why?

Approving Hours (Field Instructors)

Once a student has logged an activity and submitted it for approval, the Field Instructor should receive an email notification to review and Approve the activity. You can also review submitted activities under the "Approvals" tab.
