When working specifically with Emily Miller, contact her early and give yourself extra time to work and experiment with the fishing nets.
Utilize Pinterest or other social media outlets for craft ideas involving fish nets.
Communicate with team members and individuals that are involved in your project throughout every step of the process to know who is doing what; involving crafts and presentation work.
Don't hesitate to ask for help with any portion of your project. There are multiple resources for you to rely on. The Center for Civic Engagement is a great on-campus resource.
Find other groups on campus that are aligned with the same values/ topic as your project. For example, in this project we contacted the Student For Environmental Activism and Animal Ethics clubs to spread the word about the event.
If you do plan on getting in contact with other organizations/artists, contact them early in the process of your project. This will help maintain the communication between your group and the person you are collaborating with. Also, it will make it easier when you have any questions throughout the process!
Know about other events that are occurring on the same day and/or close to the day of your event to make sure that your project doesn't collide/conflict with other events.
If you are working with material like ghost net material, make sure to practice enough with it in order to help others in making things.
