The Student Success Team (SST) is a strength-based, school-wide, early support and early intervention process. The SST process was established to identify strategies and programs that may resolve or alleviate a student having academic, attendance, or behavioral challenges which interfere with school success.
Working as a team the parent/guardian, teacher(s), and SST coordinator identify the student’s strengths, areas of need, appropriate supports, and targeted interventions. An SST conference should be held after classroom differentiation and modifications have been tried and the student is not making anticipated progress. When a teacher and/or parents continue to have concerns about the student’s performance, it may be helpful to discuss concerns with the school SST coordinator. We encourage families to go through the SST Process before initiating a request for assessment so we may work as a team to develop a plan of support for your child.
