What Time Is It In Alberta?

Since PACeS is an online school, we have students from all across North America. That means that we don't all live in the same timezone. However, PACeS is a school in Alberta, Canada and whenever we share schedules and time it is based on our timezone. Below is a handy tool to help you figure out what time it is in Alberta if you live in a different timezone. :)

Book Lists

Physical textbooks will be sent to you from the PACeS office. Sometimes it can take a little while to travel in the mail so don't worry if you don't have them right away. Each class will have access to digital textbooks through Google Classroom as you wait for your physical textbooks to arrive. The following are the books you can expect to arrive in the coming weeks.

School Supplies

You will be happy to know that the list of school supplies is not a long one. We try to provide the opportunity for work to be done digitally through the Google tools we have access to with our school accounts. Throughout the year, you can expect to have on hand basic office supplies such as paper/notebooks, pens, and pencils.

We've put together the document below that outlines the type of supplies you might need. All the supplies listed are NOT mandatory. We indicate which ones are good to have on hand and others that can be helpful.

The basics for getting started the first week of school are:

1. COMPUTER (laptop or desktop is fine) *please note that we have found Chromebooks to not always cooperate with Zoom, our online platform*

2. EARPHONES WITH MICROPHONE (both are necessary in order to participate in class properly) *Can be an earphone/microphone combo or earphones and separate microphone*

3. WEBCAM (all students are required to be on camera during class time)

4. CHROME WEB BROWSER

5. PLACE TO TAKE NOTES (depending on your child's preferences this could be a notebook, binder with paper, or Google Docs)
