Meet Mrs. Diaz
Meet Mrs. Diaz
I remember sitting in class, watching my teacher, and thinking to myself, One day, I want to be just like her. Even as a first grader, I knew I was called to be a teacher. My teacher was kind, intelligent, and made every student feel valued. It was in that moment that I discovered my vocation to teach, a calling I later pursued at Felician College, where I earned a dual major in English and Elementary Education.
I went on to serve in the Perth Amboy school system for 13 years and later worked for the Elizabeth Board of Education for two years. Throughout college and my years as an educator, I was deeply involved in ministry at St. John the Evangelist Church in Bergenfield, NJ, with Jovenes De Jesus (JDJ). I served first as a youth leader and eventually as the youth director, dedicating over 16 years to helping young people discover the love of Christ. Guiding them through life-changing encounters with Him was one of my greatest and most fulfilling missions.
Growing up in a Christ-centered home taught me that God has a purpose and plan for each of us. Faith is the greatest inheritance we can leave our children. I’m blessed to be married to my childhood sweetheart, and together we have four beautiful children. Family is at the heart of everything I do. I believe that to truly thrive, we need the support of a loving and united family, one that extends beyond our homes to include our school family.
Being in a Catholic school allows me to witness and acknowledge the presence of our Good, Good Father each day. At PACS, our students are challenged not only academically but also spiritually. We live in a time when strong Catholic leaders are needed more than ever. The Lord is calling, and it is our mission to equip our students with the tools to answer that call, to know, love, and serve the Lord. My own encounter with Him fuels my passion for shaping the next generation of faithful leaders.
Each day at PACS begins with music, prayer, and motivational messages to keep us grounded, focused, and encouraged. Our students also receive spiritual nourishment by attending daily Mass with the parishioners of St. Stephen’s. Spending time with Jesus in the Eucharist prepares us for both the academic journey and the greater journey of life.
I have always loved children and dreamed of having a big family. Before becoming principal at PACS, I longed to adopt a child. Today, I am grateful that God has granted me a different kind of adoption, the opportunity to love and nurture the faculty, students, and families of this school as my own. I am committed to ensuring that every child here receives the education they deserve and the formation they need to fulfill their God-given mission.
At PACS, we are more than a school, we are a family. Seeds of faith have been planted by those who came before us, and it is our responsibility to continue watering them while planting new ones. With Christ at the center, a bountiful harvest is sure to come.
"Faith plants the seed. Love makes it grow."
