Principal's Corner

Meet Mrs. Diaz

I remember sitting in class watching my teacher thinking to myself, one day I want to be just like her. I knew then in first grade that I would be a teacher one day. My teacher was kind, smart, and made you feel valued. I discovered my vocation to teach then and later pursued this calling at Felician College. I graduated with a dual major in English and Elementary Education. I worked in Perth Amboy schools for 13 years. I also worked for the Elizabeth Board of Education for 2 years.

All throughout college and even as a teacher I served in a ministry in St. John the Evangelist Church in Bergenfield NJ, called "JDJ", Jovenes De Jesus. I served as both a youth leader and then the youth director. Our season in ministry lasted for over 16 years. Our ministry's focus was to help the youth discover the love of Christ. Leading them into their life changing encounters was one of my greatest, most fulfilling missions in life.

Growing up in a Christ centered home allowed me to understand God had a purpose and plan for my life. Faith is the greatest inheritance you could leave your children. I’m happily married to my childhood sweetheart and together we have 4 beautiful children. Family is very important to me. I believe that to thrive you need the support of a loving, dedicated, and united family. That family is made up of all the people who love and care about you. This family I refer to is the one at home but also your school family. Being in a catholic school gives me the opportunity to acknowledge the “Good, Good, Father” amongst us and allow him the room to have his way. Our children here at PACS are challenged academically but will also be challenged spiritually. We live in a time where Catholic Leaders are desperately needed. The Lord is calling and we will equip our students with the tools necessary to answer that call. What is that call? To know, love and serve the Lord. My encounter with the Lord fueled my passion into being the person I am today.

Here in school we start our day with music, prayer, and motivational phrases that keep us grounded, focused and encouraged. We also receive our spiritual nourishment with mass. Our students join St. Stephen's parishioners for daily mass. Spending that time with Jesus in the eucharist awakens and prepares us for our academic journey each day.

I love children and I have always desired to have a big family. Before becoming principal at PACS, I longed to adopt a child. Today I am grateful because the Lord has given me the opportunity to love the faculty, students and their families as my own, a spiritual adoption. I’m determined to give these children the education they deserve and equip them for their mission. Here at PACS we continue to be a family. With so many seeds planted before me, I set out to continue watering those seeds while planting more!

With the Lord at the center, a plentiful harvest is expected.

“Faith Plants the Seed. Love makes it grow.”
