The video chat took place through Google Hangouts and lasted about one hour.
The pupils of both schools introduced themselves and next their Spanish friends talked about their city.
Our students also answered ten questions of a Kahoot! quiz prepared by their Spanish mates. They had so much fun.
Enthusiasm spread among both classes. The pupils took control of the meeting and started exchanging Instagram contacts and sharing "stories" about the event.
Now expectations are running high for the next online discussion!
On our second meeting today Sraffa students talked about the city of Crema where they study and where some of them live.
After describing the city they invited their Spanish friends to play a game to see if they had grasped the main information about it. The Spanish students took part to the game in groups, there were 7 teams and they were great!! Here are the results!
The topics of today's meeting were music and sport. The students first talked about their favourite singers and groups and the importance of music for teenagers. They also made a collaborative mind map about it.
Then their interest focused on sport, mainly on football and the best football teams in each country.

DESCRIPTOR
Can interact online with a partner or small group working on a project, provided there are visual aids such as images, statistics and graphs to clarify more complex concepts.
Today April 5th the students started working on a project: making an escape room. To get an idea of the work to be done they had a look at an escape room to see how this kind of games work. They discussed how to deal with the topic which was "Traditional dishes" . They had already collected local recipes in the forum and they decide to make an ebook with them together with the Spanish students. The booklet would be the prize at the end of the game and they started building the storyline of the escape room starting from the home page.
Today all the groups worked hard for two hours to make their page of the escape room. The work was a little webquest on different types of food and their nutrients. It was not easy to read, select the information and then write it using their own words but in each group the members helped each other a lot and they managed. Good collaboration always works and gives results!

Today Sraffa students made some of the riddles for the escape room. It was fun! They checked what had been done with the escape room given as an example and started creating. Some used the suggested tools, others looked for better ones. At the end of the activity they were really satisfied!
Piloting the above-mentioned descriptors has had a positive impact on both teaching and learning.
As far as teaching is concerned it has led to a more careful and detailed planning of the activities keeping in mind precise objectives to be reached.
As for learning better planning has resulted in better and more active involvement of students, higher motivation and commitment and hence to more satisfactory learning outcomes.
