In Grade 6 Ancient Civilizations, we study regions of the world by examining physical geography, nations in the region today, and selected ancient and classical societies from more than 1,000 years ago. Our goal for the year is to answer the questions “How does geography affect how societies develop and interact?” and “How have human societies differed from one another across time and regions?”
Mr. Moriarty's goals for Ancient Civilizations students:
Read, write, and think like historians
Develop as a communicator through discussion and debate
Make connections to today while learning about human history and ancient civilizations
Develop note taking and study strategies
Having fun and enjoy coming to class and learning together
