FAFSA and CA Dream Act Application Deadline: March 2
California has joined seven other states in implementing a policy requiring all graduating high school seniors to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) unless they opt-out.
Each high school senior must complete one of these three forms:
• FREE financial aid application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
• California Dream Act Application (CADAA)
• Opt out form
AB 469 requirement per California Education Code Section 51225.7. Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) are required to confirm that high school seniors complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA). Students may alternatively complete an opt-out form, which shall be collected and retained by the high school.

**Submitting a Financial Aid Application opt-out form does not prohibit a student from completing and
submitting a financial aid application at any time in the future.
