About us 

We are the Marine Science Academy (MSA) here at Channel Islands High School. Our main focus and goal here at CIHS is to promote and educate on environmental wellness in our community. Our Native Nursery Garden is great proof of our work and efforts over the years to bring about these goals. The plants we take care of in the nursery are native to the western coastal area, we aim to provide and give these plants the best care possible to reinforce the biodiversity in this area. 

We take care of these native plants so they can grow strong and help support local wildlife and biodiversity, but we don’t just keep them for ourselves. Our goal is to share these plants with our community by giving out native plants for home gardens. We hope to encourage more people to protect our environment, restore natural habitats, and bring more nature back into our neighborhoods.
