Commander STEVE TRICKLE

Steve began his career in law enforcement in 1998 with the United States Border Patrol and worked as a Border Patrol Agent assigned to the San Diego Sector. In 2000, he was hired by the Oxnard Police Department. During his time in the Field Services Bureau, he served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, a Bicycle Team member, and Oxnard Violent Crimes Task Force member.

In 2008, Steve was promoted to Senior Officer and served as a District Four Beat Coordinator and was later selected as the K-9 Handler /Coordinator. He spent 5 years in the K-9 Unit prior to being promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2013.  As a sergeant, he worked as a Patrol Sergeant, Narcotics Detective Sergeant assigned to the Ventura County Combined Agency Task Force (VCCAT), Homeless Liaison Unit Supervisor, Central Business District Supervisor and K-9 Unit Supervisor. 

In 2023, Steve was promoted to Commander and assigned to the Field Services Bureau, he currently oversees West Oxnard, including the Central Business District. His other assignments include the Body Worn Camera (BWC) System, Bike Team, and   Patrol Scheduling. 

Commander Trickle received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Grand Canyon University in 1997. He is also a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute (Class #479). In addition, he is the former Board President of the Oxnard Community K-9 Foundation non-profit 501(c) (3).
