Commander Cody Collet was promoted to the rank of Commander in 2024.
Cody started his career with the Oxnard Police Department in 2009. Cody served as a Patrol Officer until 2011, when he was assigned to the Violent Crimes Unit as a Gang Detective. Cody was promoted to Senior Officer in 2018 and served as the Riverpark Coordinator. In 2019, Cody was assigned to the Special Enforcement Unit / SWAT Team. In 2020, Cody was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
As a Sergeant, he supervised Patrol Officers and was a member of the SWAT Team. In 2022, Cody was assigned as the Sergeant for the Property Crimes Unit. As the Property Crimes Unit Sergeant, Cody supervised detectives specializing in stolen vehicles, property crimes, arson, and fraud. Cody also supervised the Department's Court Liaison. Cody served in several collateral assignments, including the Defensive Tactics and Patrol Development Unit.
In 2024, Cody was promoted to Commander and served as a patrol watch commander, assigned to the Field Services Bureau. He oversaw West Oxnard, Central Business District, Homeless Liaison Unit, Crisis Intervention Team, Bike Team, and Force Options. In 2025, Cody was selected as the Investigative Services Bureau Commander, overseeing the Major Crimes Unit, Violent Crimes Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit, Family Protection Unit, Property Crimes Unit, and Crime Analysis Unit.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Security Management from the University of Phoenix in 2014. He is also a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute (Class #539).
