Child Car Seat Inspection and Installation Program
The Oxnard Firefighters Foundation is currently implementing a new program to install child car seats to the residents of Oxnard. The Oxnard Firefighters Foundation is partnering with the Oxnard Fire Department and Safe Kids of Ventura County to provide child car seat install events since 2015. Our trained firefighters and car seat technicians will safely and effectively install your child's car seat in your specific car. Many cars come through our program with incorrect or unsafe installation. We will correct the installation free of charge. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment please call the Oxnard Fire Department Administration Office at 805-385-7722. You can also attend our open install events. Appointments are strongly encouraged.

Please allow an hour for your car seat installation
If possible bring your child or children with you to correctly install your car seat
Dont forget your child car seat when you come to your appointment
Along with having your child car seat installed we will be also teach you how to correctly install it yourself
There is no cost to you, this is a free program
California Law (Effective 1/1/12):
Children under the age of 8 must be secured in a car seat or booster seat in the back seat.
Children under the age of 8 who are 4' 9" or taller may be secured by a safety belt in the back seat.
Children who are 8 years and over shall be properly secured in an appropriate child passenger restraint system or safety belt.
Passengers who are 16 years of age and over are subject to California's Mandatory Seat Belt law.
Buckling up is the single most effective thing you can do to protect yourself in a crash. Also, seat belts are the best defense against impaired, aggressive, and distracted drivers.
