With our asynchronous option, students simply need to fill out the google form below. At the end of the form, there is a place for students to upload a video. Once we receive the form and video, we will have our members review it and give feedback. This will include both comments on the performance itself and advice for improvements. We will also provide technical feedback to optimize recording setups for the actual audition. We plan to have feedback returned within a few days, so please send us a submission no later than 3 days before the OMEA deadline. Please include a scan of the sheet music being played. If you are unable to attach the sheet music, that is okay, but we can give more specific comments with the music.
Students can also choose to participate in a live virtual performance and feedback session with us. To take advantage of this option, please fill out the form below. It is almost the same as the form for option one, except instead of a video upload students will indicate their meeting preferences (Zoom, Google, etc.). We will send a confirmation email and calendar invitation to the student based on this. Finally, the student will join a video call where we will guide them through a technical checklist, performance, and feedback session. This process will only take about 10 - 20 minutes.
OMEA is projecting to have over 20,000 middle and high school students submit recordings for adjudication this fall, and we would love to help prepare students and help ensure that they get the best results possible!
