2022 Spring and Summer Sessions

DESCRIPTION

Thursday, February 17, 2022:

Train the Trainer

This session will provide districts and schools a process for designing a local curriculum that supports standards implementation and promotes student equity. By the end of the session, participants will be able to differentiate the role of standards, curriculum and instructional resources as defined in KY law, access resources to support designing a high-quality local curriculum, and define High-Quality Instructional Resources and High-Quality Professional Learning as well as, explain how they support student and teacher equity. Time will be provided for district teams to determine next steps. It is highly suggested to bring a team.

In this session, CRRSA Learning Acceleration Specialists will review the acceleration process and assist districts in the preparation of acceleration work/trainings with staff during Summer.

Monday, June 13, 2022: Classroom Teachers

This session is ideal for instructional coaches, district curriculum personnel, building administrators, and teacher leaders as it will empower them to train their own staff in supporting the implementation of Kentucky Academic Standards (KAS) for Social Studies. Participants will learn how to break down social studies standards and determine what mastery of a standard looks like in order to accelerate learning. We will utilize a protocol to review assignments and determine congruence to the standards. The summer session is geared more toward classroom teachers.

This session is ideal for instructional coaches, district curriculum personnel, building administrators, and teacher leaders as it will empower them to train their own staff in supporting the implementation of Kentucky Academic Standards (KAS) for Reading and Writing. Participants will learn how to break down reading and writing standards and determine what mastery of a standard looks like in order to accelerate learning. We will utilize a protocol to review assignments and determine congruence to the standards. The summer session is geared more toward classroom teachers.

Participants will learn how to break down mathematics standards and determine what mastery of a standard looks like in order to accelerate learning. We will utilize a protocol to review assignments and determine congruence to the standards. The summer session is geared more toward classroom teachers.

This session is designed for district and building level PBIS/Behavior leaders and teams. Through this training you will identify ways to creating and sustain safe, predictable, and consistent learning environments that teach students how to replace inappropriate behaviors with skills, establish and strengthen relationships, and replace subjectivity with data driven decision-making.

DESCRIPTION

Wednesday, July 20, 2022

This session is designed for district and building level PBIS/Behavior leaders and teams to reflect on their current practices around PBIS within the MTSS Framework. Through the structure of this workshop, teams will clarify and make adjustments to their current practices!
